Loud banging, shouting and music: More Singaporeans find themselves trapped by noisy neighbours

From late-night banging to verbal abuse, residents say official channels offer little relief in neighbour disputes, leaving many sleep-deprived and facing mental health strains.

How can they left out noisy roosters on HDB grounds? Even I called up Tanjong Pagar town council also they couldn't care a hoot ... send messages to them also not responded. Some more the town council dare to charge me $72 per month. Something is seriously not right in this part of the island. Actually the town council fees should be updated to charge based on per resident, not per household. Big families get to pay less but can receive additional payouts and benefits from govt at the expense of the rest. Where's the equality in our country? Tell me.

My neighbour everyday talk by shouting.

Only solution is wait for him to die.

My neighbors upstairs 8king skipping 7cha8cha, do weight lifting after 1030pm to 2am ninnabeh78 ..

I complaint HDB, make police report liao hope both be considerate

hmmm .. they're at their late 30s-40s

Looks like I'll die first lol

Anyway, gahmen not doing enuff to punish these evils, inconsiderate neighbors from hell i believe

Should impose public canning or jail time

Just joking only

Why never blame it on HDB building smaller and more dense units??

now flats are smaller and cramped to each other, of course noisy la

old hdb bigger and more spacious from neighbours

Similarly, Mr Tan in Jurong described a recurring tension arising within him whenever he returns home from work at the end of each day, even while just walking towards his block.

"When I look up and see (my neighbour's) lights on, I worry: is she going to play music tonight? Will I be able to rest?"

The unpredictability and disturbances have left him fatigued, affecting his performance at work.

This one very much resonates with me sia.

Every evening when I am home, I get more and more tensed not knowing when the daily stomping and furniture dragging and door slamming will end.

Every night when I go to bed, I get this tension from not knowing whether and when they will wake me up with their 5am or 6am or 7am stompings.

MP and HDB and TC all just asked me to initiate mediation and nothing else.

Can understand those who snapped.

I can totally empathise as my previous house had upstairs neighbours who walked, ran and stomped like dinosaurs. Also had dragging of furniture sound. Always felt very tensed up. Every moment will just anticipate the sudden sound happening.
