I’ve got iPhone 12PM, paid for the M1 5G booster pack, set my phone data settings to “5G On”, walked from Paragon to 313 Somerset and around Lau Pa Sat...cannot even see 5G signal at all for the past 2 months.
Wasted $10, time and energy. Damn pissed, will try Singtel when my contract’s up in end-March, hope will have no-contract 5G sim-only plan by then.

Under data plan, M1, data mode, allow more data on 5G

This setting allow u to connect to 5G whenever available but use up battery faster.

Yup. I’ve researched and made those settings. No 5G signal for me. Felt like I got scammed by M1. They charged me for a service that’s obviously not ready.

Anyway, I'm going to pay $5 to try out the 5G comes this 1st February.

I will know if my $5 will be well spent or wasted on my OnePlus 8T, in which M1 carries this model and yet does not list this model as a supported 5G device in its official listing.

5G did help in terms of helping to load things compare to 4G network at the same location (before activating 5G)

but current 5G is still NSA... hope 5G SA will be activated soon

I hope it works with my Oneplus 8T and I will download Netflix to try out M1's 5G NSA speed at Paya Lebar Square which is just 3 bus stops away from my house!:s22:

I'm subscribed to one of the MySIM(e) plans. For 5G I just need to apply for the $5 booster? Then I can use all my existing data allowance for 5G?

The other more expensive booster is just for more data?

Correct! $5 is without extra data. The rest are with extra data which costs much more!

It is also a non-prorated subscription. It follows your monthly mobile bill cycle. You used 1 day also $5. Used 30 days also $5!

That explains why I have to wait until the 1st Feb than subscribe the $5 5G booster even I have gotten my OnePlus 8T on the 22nd Jan.

I have a SIM Only plan/30GB per month.

My usage pattern is I'm using mobile data only when I'm taking a break in shopping malls during lunchtime. Other times I dun need any mobile data cos will be either driving or on wifi.

Like that no point getting 5G booster? Since M1 dun support 5G indoors right?

I’m only on one e-sim, no nano sim card.
I’m using the US set (Model A2342) by the way, according to the tech specs, it covers all the 4G/5G bands of the SG set plus a few other bands.

Could be carrier profile issue. The US model may only allow 5G on their local SIMs. It should still provision as M1 Singapore, but details inside the carrier profile may not be the same as global model.

You reach out to M1 they'll also ignore you cos you ain't using global model. Apple may also ignore you, since you're not using the device in the intended market.

Even Apple Support Website stated it:

To identify your iPhone model number, see support.apple.com/en-sg/HT3939. Unlocked iPhone models may support 5G and/or LTE networks outside the country of purchase when using a valid SIM from a supported carrier. Contact your carrier for more details.

5G and LTE band support is based on iPhone model number and configuration for either CDMA or GSM networks. 5G and LTE wireless service may not be available even if listed bands are supported by your carrier.

By that logic, my phone should not be able to connect to 4G too over here then.
