For M1 Data roaming to work , need to activate or deactivate $100 data roaming cap ?

Been using in malaysia no issue.
but last china a week trip had issue connecting and also keep telling me hit $100 data cap. Had to call went back CS to waive even after they check say no issue, sianz.

Now going Japan in weeks time, afraid hit same problem as in China trip, thus thinking getting Changi JAPAN Wifi Router Promotion.
Well I called in M1 service line, they activate 4 items:

Data passport
Pay per use roaming
Data Roaming
Network Lock

Yah it's slightly cheaper. I din even hit 1gb during my stay in jp

Sent from Sony E6853 using GAGT

When? I thought all the while is $50 for a full list of European countries inclusive and some individual European countries such as UK charged $25.

It is alright in Tokyo..even in kawaguchiko or Kyoto..

Wife was using it for our trip back in nov 2015..2 months back in oct, decided to rent the mifi from changirecommend for our trip since both of us using..

Using the data passport in Malaysia. Really lousy speed. On 4G connection, download and upload speed is less than 1mbps. I recommend buying the local sim since it's cheaper anyway.

I give double thumbs up for M1 passport while in japan even thou I got change mifi. Using it as a backup in case mifi failed. The connection speed was great and minimal lagged.

Do note that the cost for M1 passport for Japan in $25 per month excluding activation fee.

I planned the trip Free and easy plus driving and self booking everything. M1 passport definitely helps and I feel more secure with it.

M1 passport network depends solely on their partner network lah. It has nothing to do with M1. M1 is just like a dealer or middleman. You pay M1, M1 will get a cut to help connect you to their partner network.

If prices are around the same as overseas SIM card, and I have many gigabyte of data left, will choose M1 passport for sure. If use in China, can even access FB, IG, google, twitter, etc.

datapassport is now on its own 30days cycle. Not following your monthly mobile subscription cycle.

"The minimum subscription period is one month and will be charged according to the date of activation."

Yes. Can access google map if using M1 passport in china. Will bypass the great firewall of china. No point buying their local sim and then use vpn - which can be slow or intermittent.
