Hmm... I have got new ONT and new Wi-Fi router for this re-comtrcat.
How do I know to set them up correctly...
The Starhub technician came and replaced the HG8240 ONT with a new one, still the same HG8240 ONT.
He needed to call the back end to activate the ONT. Then he did the speed test to confirm the activation is okay using the Starhub Speed Test site.
Edit to add:
Transportation charge applies at S$12.84 (GST included). I think that is a reasonable price. For service calls like this, if the fault is not from Starhub side, they may charge S$40.66 (GST included). So make sure you have done your study and you are sure the Starhub equipment is faulty.
They will send you the work order by email stating the charges after the work has been done.
how come re-contract will be getting new ONT and router? any new promo for recontract?Hmm... I have got new ONT and new Wi-Fi router for this re-comtrcat.

ONT for M1 is replaced by technician as well, not sure why he got a new ONT for recontracting. I recontracted with M1 3 - 4 times before and they never changed my ONT until it died this year.Hmm, interesting. For recontract, usually you do not need to change your ONT, unless you specifically request and then they agree with the change. ONT can last very long, easily 7 years or 10 years or longer.
When changing ONT, Starhub needs to have the technician on site talking to the backend and then activate the ONT.
Singtel is different, you have to go to the collection point -- either SERV+ or Singtel Hello Shop for ONT/ONR change. Then you can self install at home. In fact, you also collect your free wireless router for recontract at SERV+ and then self install.
So M1 is different for ONT replacement?
The following was my experience when changing Starhub ONT back in Dec 2021.
