I just recontacted with CIS SIM only business plan, the new contract stated 6 months 5G access free and 6 months caller id free.

The M1+ app has not reflected the new contract, still listing the old contract terms , will wait a few days to see will it reflect the new changes.

Called 1627 hotline, advice given is to recontract once every 6 months or less.
However my colleague with M1 CIS plan does not need to do adjustment.

ST mvno? I thinking but only seems like gomo is good, but pay more than my M1 now le.
Yeah.. free 6-month subs for Vivifi / zym or Zero1 or CMlink non-ST network.. Quite a few choices ..

$15 plan - 6mth worth of subscription is quite a substantial discount

Just talked to a colleague who is using M1BeSpoke SIM Only Plan at S$14.95 + S$5 (Called ID !!!) = S$19.95 per month, and then she told me M1 5G is pretty bad for her.

Then I asked her whether she knew the Airplane Mode trick, she told me of course.

Everyone on M1 network knows the Airplane Mode trick. LOL. :ROFLMAO:

Ask your colleague to renew her plan to get free 12 months caller id.

I just port over to the bespoke sim only business 1tb plan. Just tested out speedtest at bedok mall can get over 900 + mbps near to 1000. Quite happy with it. Not sure if maxx can also achieved the same result or not that's y I ported to the main m1 plan .lol. but from khatib to yck mrt in between will still get no signal just like starhub and singtel.

M1 Maxx can be very fast as well. I am just using M1 Maxx since last week and I can get 900Mbps using my Poco X7 Pro phone.

In fact the record of Top 5G SA speed as of now is from @Jurong640 using M1 Maxx.

Download Speed: 1.34gbps
Operator: M1 Maxx 5G
Mobile Plan: $10 Plan
Mode: 5G SA
Device: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
Location: ARC

The issue for M1 mobile network is not the top speed, but rather the consistency in terms of coverage and reliability.

You can use apps like NetMonitor to see what is the connection, signal strength and other things, if you use Android. Not so sure about iPhone.

Reference.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/tools-to-troubleshoot-mobile-network-performance.7163206/

Example: getting slow speed from M1 Maxx here as well. Singtel is not great but quite a bit better. On the other hand, M1 Maxx is still usable as I can still browse Internet.

BTW, it all depends on the location. In this particular location, my eight S$8 4G plan performs the best in terms of signal strength and consistency, followed by Singtel SIM Only S$15.28 plan and M1 Maxx S$10 plan is the worst. But there are other places like my home where M1 Maxx 5G is the best, followed by Singtel 5G, but eight 4G is quite bad.

You can see in this case, SIM2 (M1 Maxx) only connects to 4G LTE and the signal level is very weak. Not possible to connect to 5G and not even 4G LTE-A.

SIM1 (Singtel SIM Only): the signal is also not good but better than M1 Maxx. It managed to connect to 5G SA or NSA. Therefore it gets better speed.

It's like a recent case only.

I see.

After testing out M1 Maxx S$10 5G plan, and Starhub eight S$8 4G plan, while keeping my main SingTel SIM Only lines, I feel that all three networks have its strong and weak signal areas.

It makes sense to have two networks to back up each other.

For example, I may want to keep eight 4G as a backup because it offers better roaming and then in a few places it also performs better than my Singtel main line.

In your case you can keep using your M1 line as the main line, but add Singtel Gomo or MVNOs as a secondary line.

In fact I want to try SIMBA S$12 plan in December as well, mainly for roaming in China but I will check out its local performance as well.

If your phone supports eSIM, trying out the second line is easy. My Poco X7 Pro does not support eSIM so I am testing eight and Maxx one by one, or I have to use two phones.

Previously when I was on M1, no issues for me. Your 8mbps download speed is at home or outside?

If you can try the M1 SIM on another phone and isolate if this is a SIM issue ..
