Just realised this.... if using wifi calling means the bundled minutes wont get deducted?
Wi-Fi Calling is when let’s say you are in an area or place with poor cellular coverage but has got Wi-Fi. It allow you to still make phone calls.
Wait what there's WiFi Calling???? When it's implemented?
Edit: WiFi Calling is enabled via M1 Singapore Carrier Update 32.1. Rolled out today(?)
Erm also, WiFi calling will still deduct from your voice bundle btw
So hor, is the bundled mins deducted when using wifi calling ?
Bundled mins will still be deducted. It’s just (normal) cellular calls made via Wi-Fi instead of the usual cellular tower or reception.
Thanks... even if the airplane mode is on... mins will still be deducted?
Thanks guys.... then it’s dangerous to even use it while roaming... bill shock.
Actually it depends.
Disable Roaming, use airplane mode. Then connect to local WiFi networks, automatically the phone will connect to WiFi Calling
Calls would probably be treated as normal Singapore airtime charges.
But this definitely needs testing though.
Thanks for this info. Shall try this when I go overseas next week
Actually could do the other way, make an overseas call from singapore with the airplane mode on connected to wifi.
Thanks for this info. Shall try this when I go overseas next week
Let us know how it goes... dont go all out with the roaming calls. Lol
it doesn't work if the network you're connected to is not M1. wifi calling will only work on home network, meaning m1 sim card on m1 network, regardless of what wifi network you connecting to.
Singtel already has this feature long time ago and i was also testing the hypothesis of it being able to work overseas but sadly, it doesn't work that way.
How did you all get the carrier update in iOS? By right it should be pushed to you as a notification right?
