Chanced upon it at Best Denki Funan yesterday.

First impressions:
1. Very nice & minimalist industrial design. The design Apple should've adopted.
2. More compact than expected due to the slim form factor.
3. Height adjustability is smooth and functional.

On closer inspection:
1. Other than the very base of the stand, all other parts are plastic, including the very plastic detachable camera.
2. Plastic stand looks ok. Plastic back panel looks ok except for the center portion which looks very plastic.
3. Speakers are where the perforations are. Yes, the speakers are rear-facing.
4. Noticeable gap between frame and LCD panel, unlike Apple displays. Some roughness there.

Whilst the design and functionality are very nice, it definitely could've been executed better.
The ample use of plastic makes it feel decidedly less premium than Apple displays.

Thanks for the review. Was considering this but wow that gap between the frame & panel is 🤦🏻‍♂️ $2000 for this kinda quality is unforgivable. Its not a $700 monitor sia.

I mean in theory its better value than Apple cos adjustable stand plus matte. With Apple all these are extra cost. Bad enough its plastic but that gap to me is just shoddy workmanship. I’ll pass!

Wonder if Apple will introduce a new version of studio display Gen 2 with support of AirPlay 2 and detachable power cable.

I rather go for Huawei Mateview which I've been enjoying. It's a 3:2 matte display in 4K+ resolution with 65W power passthrough for less than 900

My thoughts exactly.

To be fair it looks ok from a distance, but I couldn't unsee it after only spending 5mins with it.
It became even more obvious when I compared it with the Apple Studio Display they had in store.
Never thought I'd say this but it made the Apple Studio Display seem like a bargain.🤷‍♂️

Just gotten a Samsung ViewFinity S9 to pair with Mac mini M2 as replacement to my iMac 27" late 2014".

The gap between the bezel and and the screen is not obvious unless one examine it closely with a torchlight.

One key selling point is that the ViewFinity S9 comes with height adjustable stand without having to pay extra for it.

Should i upgraded to the M2 Pro Mac mini Base model?

I’ve been using the M1 16gb Mac mini for the last 3 years.

I have the LG 32UN650-W paired to my Mac Mini, and can confirm that it is super crisp and sharp at 3008x1692, which is also the default resolution of the 32" 6K Apple Pro Display XDR.

Extremely good value for the money given its excellent panel, and the online reviews agree.

However, if you can wait a few more months, the 32” 4K OLED displays are finally coming

You liking the display? One concern i had was the anti-glare...i much prefer a glossy display

LG 32UN650-W no USB-C port as now I connect with my Dell 2k monitor, waiting for a OLED or mini-LED monitor with USB-C port and a standard stand, not those inverted V gaming type stand.

so so only and unboxing experience is no Apple standard

Yup, I saw that review too, and it wasn't too inspiring.

I saw the S9 again at the Comex show over the weekend, and noticed something not quite right with the frame.
It looked wavy. On closer inspection, it looks like part of the frame is separating from the panel.

The guy told me it came like that right out of the box. Could be QC issues.
