Incomplete analogy. If your OS X partition is writeable to Windows, viruses can corrupt files on your OS X partition still.

It's just that they cannot execute their payload inside of OS X. However, it's possible the file corruption could render OS X non-bootable in the first place, or that you could be sending infected attachments without knowing it.

I know many said it is common. But do anyone know of any program/app that can monitor the temp + fan speed?

For normal users, just drag the application icon into the trash. Or, press COMMAND + DELETE to do the same thing.

Like I said, for the casual user, just dragging and dropping into the trash is more than enough. The remaining folders will take up less than 50kb of space anyway. I personally have an app called AppZapper, and I delete my apps through that app. It will "zap" away unwanted folders at the same time. It is paid though, similar to most of these similar apps. I'm not sure if there is a free version out there.

For IM, use Adium. Period.

Haven't found a good answer for this.

I always shutdown my Windows and turn off the power supply when not using whether for a short period of time or at the end of the day.

I want to do the same with my iMac but read that it's recommended to put it to sleep overnight (I assume this would mean keeping the power supply on).

If I want to completely turn off my power supply. Should I do a shutdown or can I actually turn off the power supply even after putting it to sleep?

Also when doing shutdown, sleep or restart, do I need to manually eject all external drives first?

interesting I thought just shut down and off power already can?

because many said that putting it to sleep is good enough and repeated shutting down and turning on will wear out the electrical components.

i just don't have the habit of leaving my power supply on when I'm not using the iMac or my PC previously. so want to check with users here.

Putting your mac to sleep instead of shutting it down will lower the lifespan of the MB and HDD. Shut it down if you do not intend to use it for extended period of time, like when you're going to sleep.

for windows just right- click on the photo go properties can find it

or click and drag photo to address bar and it'll open the photo in the tab showing you the url

I don't even lock one folder.

log in just only me and never set passwords

weird why this folder usertemplate in the library from the HD i can't access?
ok the user template folder is in mac hd under system folder.
