Just curious, what display settings are you guys using?
I am using the scale (most space) since I am too used to my previous 17' mbp.
Another question. How do we use Air Play? Must we go through iTunes home sharing?
Cuz I am using a older firmware jailbroken Apple TV. Must I update it to the latest firmware?

1st gen apple tv? u got to update to latest firmware to support airplay..
airplay works starting from iOS4.xx
13" 2011?
then upgading it to 8GB is worth it. Ram are cheap now.
5 years is a long time. You'll eventually run out of RAM. The upgrade is a small price to pay for something you want to keep that long!
just make sure that you have at least 2nd gen Apple TV or later and also enable air play on the unit itself.
correction, you need second-generation Apple TV or later for Airplay to work and there is no point updating the 1st gen Apple TV as it will never be supported even you got the latest firmware.
I remember the 1st gen if jailbroke u can do airplay..
I am having the 2G Apple TV but dont wanna update yet. haha. Using the XBMC to airplay now.
Airplay from Mountain Lion is through iTunes or ? If its thru iTunes, I would forget it. I'll stick to my XBMC
I used Parallels to run Windows 7 for a few hours but there were some issues I couldnt iron out. So I uninstalled the Windows 7 image and went the Bootcamp route.
Now that my Windows 7 has successfully installed via Bootcamp, I read that it is possible to run Parallels in my OS X and use it to virtualize the Bootcamp partition.
Will this be exactly the same as running Windows 7 via Parallels (a pure Virtual Machine) like I did previously?
Do i install programs in Bootcamp in order to use Parallels in OS X to run it? I recall that as a virtual machine I can just run and execute windows programs within OS X
Read some reports that this will not allow snapshot functions, and also any changes made to the bootcamp partition via Parallels 7 will be permanent.
I understand the part about snapshots but the 'changes made will be permanent', dont get it.
Can anyone advise if I should or shouldn't virtualize the bootcamp partition via Parallels 7? The pros and cons of doing so etc. Having to reboot whenevrr I need to use Windows is damn troublesome. Plus, cant share files easily like in virtual machine.
Thanks in advanced.
Yes, you install programs and applications just like how you did previously. Everything would be similar for functionality, taking the snapshots thingy aside - you are using a physical instead of a virtual disk.
The changes made are permanent as they will be written to your bootcamp partition physically via the vm. Personally I don't see see why you should install a bootcamp partition and then access it via a vm.
If using parallels, then don't go the bootcamp approach, and vice versa. Pros of bootcamp would be of course performance, as it can utilise the full capacity of your mac.
i bought a thunderbolt duo 6tb i want to use initially to store all my media files. i already set it at RAID 1 (mirror) and started throwing things on it now is the fourth day of continuous 24hours of transfer process..
later on i realized, i should have used it for 3 partitions on RAID 1, MEDIA, MY FILES and TIME MACHINE.
is it still possible to partition a RAID 1 disk without erasing the contents? or is it even possible to partition a RAID 1?
As much as i can i want to stick to Parallels and not have to bootcamp to save space.
But virtualizing Windows 7 gives me this error whenever I launch the virtual machine.
However i can still use it normally without any problems though. Can connect my external hard disk. For now trying to find alternatives cos it may (or may not) manifest problems in the future.
EDIT: I just tried to virtualize my boot camp partition but I still get that error whenever I start the virtual machine. Damn.
Frustrating.
