Do u guys recommanding reformatting to exFAT for a 2TB external hdd? Are there any problems with the exFAT format?

Does the sdxc card also have this kind of format issues between mac n windows?

No problem with it.
Please note FAT32 has a 4gb file size limitation

my 2012 MBP seems to heat up a lot now. i suspect the fan needs some cleaning.

Can i send it to any service centre to clean the fan? Also, the battery drains much faster in the last three months.

You may want to calibrate e battery

Heat and excessive ventilation from the fan needs power. Battery drain is a common symptom.

I suggest u try to maintain the fan by sending it for servicing, or that might need to be replaced..

on the body that is near the charging area or you mean the palm rest area. for me it's near the charging area. it's hot there too

It's the whole body. Palm rest, underbody, everywhere. It's not heat I felt but low current.

Are you wearing synthetic material???
Sometimes it amplifies the static charge.

Hi guys, I'm a student who is going to start school in weeks. My budget would be somewhere below $2k. Based on the current models, I am looking at a June 2012 cMBP 13" with 8GB RAM upgrade or a refurb Feb 2013 rMBP 13" that comes with a 256GB SSD. Then again, I am also thinking about getting the new Haswell line which is estimated to be released around Sep-Oct.

I am unsure if I should wait for Haswell. Lets say Haswell is released on 12th September in the US, how long will it take for it to be on sale in Singapore. Based on the June 2012 cMBP 13", local sale was immediate after the release. Am I right? I am thinking of surviving the first few weeks of school on a borrowed laptop, but it can't be for long...

Apple CEO, Tim Cooks said "I dont want to be more specific, but I'm just saying we've got some really great sutff coming in the fall and across all of 2014."Fall starts on the 22nd Sep, seems like a pretty long way.

any idea how to reset because I happen to forget the log in password if I log off.

I remember at the shop , I never set any log in passwords
perhaps there is a preset default one?

which OS are you using?

Either use recovery disc or enter into recovery mode to reset password..

if you never set any password, it could just be a space. try putting in a space when it prompt you for password or just hit the enter key without the space

try using the long 3-pin cable connected to the magsafe adapter rather than the duckhead connected to the magsafe adapter. should solve this problem.

OS X can read a HDD formatted as NTFS but cannot write to it. Best option if you are working regularly with both OS X and Win is to format the drive in exFAT format.

Got one problem with Skype on Mac, previously was able to send files by dragging files to the text box, but recently dragging it simply shows the path and filename of the files to be sent. The Send Files on Conversations menu appear grayed out.

Anyone knows what happened?

Is there a difference between them? Both are 3 pin plugs as far as I can see... Only thing that I can see that is difference is the plughead is nearer to the source while the additional cable gives some extra length.

Any places to recommend too look for macbook classic 13" sleeves?
Have looked at Epi and Nubox... doesn't seem to have a great range.
Preferably, one that can hold a macbook 13'' and a iPad snuggly as well.
