No wonder! Ic.. okies.. Another thing with uninstalling: If I were to drag it from application to trash, would I do a clean uninstall?

Cos in Win environment, there are always residual files residing somewhere in systems, library or something..

Question on Keychain

Airport is able to recognise my router's password through keychain, so each time I log in, it will only prompt me for my keychain PW and not the router's PW. I'm not sure how I managed to get that done, but it gets done.

How can I do the same for
1, websites - so I need only remember my KEYCHAIN PW and not the usernames and PW for the site
2. Applications so that I create security on my Mac?

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy applecare for my 2 month old mba.

Besides from apple stores, which cost $400+, i know ebay/amazon/IT garage sales sells it.

Is it safe to buy from HWZ? The price they offer is way cheaper (almost 50%) and although they have a lot of good reviews i have still a bit of doubts.

Can anyone advise?

but hwz are offering in digital format, is it okay also?

in fact i noted that alot of ebay sellers they are selling in digital copies. Just be extremely sure by communicating with them on all your queries. Buy only if you are comfortable. As for amazon, I think it comes with box, which I am sure it is more safer, but of course with box, it will not cost as cheap, with all the shipment involved.

ahha ya. The actual apple care box also include some software cd (i forgot wats the content but can be downloaded) so when you buy from such sources, they do not provide the cds and the box but they do provide you with the link to download the content for the cds. So they'll normally just email you with the applecare code thats all. I think thats what make it cheap ba, much cheaper lol.

No, what makes it cheap is that most of the time the protection plan is bought using a stolen credit card. And sometimes when the owner of the credit card disputes the purchase blah blah, Apple will invalidate that particular APP code unless you can provide a receipt which proves that you bought it. For some they might have some staff/whatever discount so that is why they can manage to resell it at such a low price. Either way, buying over eBay carries its risks.

so let's say i buy a digital copy of applecare and it is accptable at first, but when the stolen credit card owner disputes the claim then my applecare will be invalid?

so what are the chances that the digital copy of the applecare in hwz are not from stolen credit cards?

Not a Mac owner here, but i have a little question regarding the newer 09 Macs.

I've noticed that Apple moved from the 3MB Penryn(T8 series) to the Medium Voltage 3MB Penryn(P7450). While this may have a improvement in battery life from the lower TDP, i dont think this is a good move because the P7000 series lacks Virtualisation Technology?

i have both of them installed.

i like using keynote more then power point when doing presentation because it has more animation impact on the audience. the thing is you have to use your mac and connect to the projector.

for word processing i will use Microsoft for mac.

but i have to say that, Microsoft programs works really well on windows machine and not on macs. technically i have to 're-learn' on how to use Microsoft mac.

and also, iwork can open .doc, .xls and .ppt files. the only thing is compatibility for eg. alignment problem.

okay... thanks... cos the salesguy was telling me that the numbers have limitation with the formulas....
