btw i just installed Sim3 (original) into my iMac. I have safari (1 window open abt 3-4tabs), Finder open when i shut down my imac. However its going in rainbow circle for 20mins or so n i decided to shut it down. Is it because i never close all the individual applications and shut it down.... and it hangs the system?

my imac seem to keep on hanging every now and then. right now i think i open too much files in iPhoto or something.... doing some simple editing and abt 100+ pcs opened and while saving (abt the no.20 pic being savedA) and it hanged!

i pressed command opt shift esc = see colorful circle
press command opt esc = also see colorful circle.

so now the thing left is to press back button ah. after i shut down like that, do i have to do any tests etc (if my mac kept on crashing).

Maybe you should go easy on your imac? which model did you get btw?

Also sometimes, after the beachball spins for awhile, it'll go back to normal. Pressing CMD+Option+Esc will bring up the Force Quit Application window and lets you force quit the unresponsive application.

it should be saved, unless you plug in your ac adapter then the settings will be changed.

moshi touchpad protector

I jus pasted a moshi touchpad protector on my macbook then it became less responsive to my touch! normally a light touch on my the pad would suffice but now i have to touch a little harder or touch twice before it sense my touch!

Anyone experiencing this prob??? i paid 39 dollars for the protector and the plam guard! so x but it really suck! feel like tearing it out! haizzzzz

yea maybe. i just click import pics n it import all the pics in the folder. i am having prob deleting files in burnt folder but i am not sure if this is what burnt folder behaves. later calling up

Just get a magic mouse instead unless u're always computing on the move.

yes i have the same problem too/ sometimes gotta tap very hard or even tap twice. lucky i nv throw away the back sticker so i end up taking it off the trackpad protector and stick it back to the paper.

so now i only have the palmrest protector which i think is enough

No need to partition. Time Machine will create a folder, named "Backups.backupdb" in the root folder and perform its tasks within it. You may keep your own files in the same HDD. Just don't keep them in that folder.

Give Time Machine a try. Simply plug in an external hard disk (pre-formatted to "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" format and OS X will ask you if you wanna use it as your Time Machine. That's it. If you have certain folders you do not wish to backup, just tell Time Machine about them via System Preferences.

Hang problem

Looking for some advise from fellow Mac users. Well! i'm new mac user and just bought the macpro 15inch i5 2.4GHz. Beside Mac OS and also installed Window7 OS. Everything running fine excepts occasionally hang during internet surfing. Whole screen freeze and mouse also stop response. And have to hard reset by power off.
Anybody encounter this problem or not? it is hardware, software or ram problem? Please advise. Thank a lot.

trust me when I say, you don't want to use ntfs3g.

I personally found it laggy and annoying. Go get another harddrive as what bluemint suggested and get it formatted as mac os extended journaled.
