That is what happens if you don't do maintenance every once in a while. Follow this list.

1) Clear away any files that you don't need. Seriously, just get rid of them. Or stall them in an external hard drive or something. Too much memory usage will cause your Macbook to slow down greatly.

2) Download OnyX. It's a free application that does maintenance for your Mac. Repair Disk Permissions and let it clear away unnecessary caches and whatnot.

i have my macbook hooked up to the LCD tv, display no problem. However whenever i want to close the lid, so that i can just do stuff with the lcd tv, the macbook goes to sleep. they say u can wake the macbook up using an external keyboard. I have tried to press the buttons but it doesnt seem to work. is there a button to press on the external keyboard to wake the macbook up when its lid is close?

Ensure that it's connected to the macbook and that your magsafe is plugged in.
Close the lid - so it sleeps.
Press any key, 'tab', 'enter' etc. and your mac should wake up.

There's no easy way to go about doing this. Reason being you have used your HDD for quite some time and thus the files are everywhere and there is not enough free space for OS X to move them around and create a partition.

You can either buy iDefrag (or something similar) to compact your files so OS X can create a partition...

OR

Backup all your files, reformat and partition at the beginning then restore your files.

It's a good idea to partition your HDD for Boot Camp at the beginning, even if you're not sure whether you'll be installing Windows.

So i jus got to buy iDefrag and i'll be able to partition it?

For IPhoto on Mac Snow Leo.

Can I import the pics from the local HDD?
After importing, will iPhoto create a duplicate copy of the photo, like iTune (which can be toggle off) ?

Last time, used to sync iphone with iphoto and the pics is only accessible via iphoto, physical search on hdd cannot find the pics.

so now, i not sure wanna import my cam pic into iPhoto.

Yes iPhoto will still have a copy.
You can always create another event to store your PSed photos.

If you are doing some really simple edits use the iPhoto editing features.

If you wish to turn the import feature off. You may do so.

Oh!!

lidat, only 1 version of the pic will be stored?
Great!

I learning how to use Photoshop, so prefer to manage the pic myself.
but will browsing, using iPhoto is easier, else on default, is the Preview software, which the Next & Prev dun work properly for browsing pics.

I will try it out.

TQ!!
