While I can understand you may want a safer storage, it almost defeats the purpose of getting a Thunderbolt drive using RAID1 on this model of TB Duo. The 2 x 5400rpm drive on RAID1 will be the bottleneck despite having a huge TB pipe between your Mac and storage.

right, its a library of over 2,000 cd's in flac (1 music file is at 28mb to 30mb file size).. it took me 4 days to copy everything..

what do you think is the best option?

I believe WD TB Duo should be best used in Raid0 mode.
Otherwise might as well go for FW800 which is a lot cheaper.
However I am no expert in storage.

I am using WD Duo 4TB in RAID0 for music, photo and video edit/transcode and VMWare. I only backup those more impt photos/videos/music to my 2x1TB HDDs

Am I the only one whose Macbook Pro has a rattling/buzzing/crackling sound from the left speaker area?

I've only had it for a week. It's noticeable even at medium volumes. It will rattle/buzz to the tune of the music.

Dont know if it's a minor thing I should live with or go to the reseller (Sapura) since it's within 14 days of purchase.

No CTO from Apple Stores, the sales reps there also order online if you buy CTOs from them. Best to just order online yourself unless you got vouchers with the resellers.

My sis imac near 5 years old went into flashing folder with question mark
It is a new formatted OS 2-3 months back

Dont seems to have any clicking sounding from the iMac

I reset the SMC
I reset the NVRAM / PRAM
I insert the installation disk
I went to disk utilities
>There is no hard disk found except for the DVD installation

??

Does that mean it cannot detect HD, means its dead?

As it has already been out of warranty, how can I replace the HD in iMac? How much does it cost?
Must I bring it down to epicenter ?

I wish to continue run the imac as my sis only use it to surf net and msn

Thanks

If you can verify its HDD failure, then you dont need to bring down to apple service centre and tio chop by them.

you just need a reputable repair service from any neighbourhood or shopping mall, where they replace the HDD for you at a lower labour charge than apple service centre.
