Hi guys juz gotten the lateat macbook air.. still a little new and lost..

Now everytime i wanna click on something i have to physically click on the tripad, how do i make it such that i only needed to tap on the tripad?

Secondly i tried hooking up my apple id but it says my apple id has been locked for security reason. How do i retrieve it or unlock it?

Thanks.

For trackpad, just navigate to system preferences>trackpad>tap to click.

for apple ID recovery, it is a complex process and i suggest you take time to read the details.

Thanks, so I can boot up from that, and do a clean install on my 2011 MBP after downloading it from my 2014 MacAir?

Thanks again, cheers.

yes you can boot up from the thumb drive.

but making the thumb drive as a bootable disk is not a simple drag and drop process. you need to search for the software which helps you to do it, or to use the commands in Terminal.app

"Recovered Files" After Restart

Hi
Does anyone knows what is these "Recovered Files" folders found in the Trash Bin after i restart the Mac. This usually appear when there's an update of SW. What do i do with it and is it important?

Is there a solution for this?

I get them once in a while, and I notice they're MS Office files.

I would just empty the trash.

Matriculating into NUS this year and getting a MacBook Pro. I know it's been asked but anyone can confirm if I should buy from

1) NUS Mat Fair
2) Apple Store
3) Retailers
4) PC Show?

Too many options haha.

Apple Education Store.
If you have no urgent need for it. Wait until after WWDC.

I intend to grab a 13 inch MBPr though, don't think they'll refresh it again in WWDC after just a few months? And thanks for the help!

If you need AppleCare, buy from one of the online sellers in the forums. Cheaper, but still the same warranty.

Just got a 13" rMBP off the edu store a few days ago, but the charger came with the 2 prong US pins instead of the UK 3 prong pins, is it possible to get it changed? :(

Hey thanks but 14 days not enough, I'm thinking of anyone selling it cheaper than retail like what Apple care is. Thanks tho

The other way is to get the trial. Parallels will ask for your email. And once our trial is up, they will start sending discount codes to tempt you to buy. Wait long enough and you'll get really good deals. Recently there was a very good bundle but it has ended.
