For those thinking of buying the previous mac mini, pls note that the i7 is the only wayto go. The old i5 model is nothing special since the new i7 dual core mac mini can still match it. But the old i7 is a true quad core non-powersaving mobile chip that no 2014 mac mini U processor can challenge in terms of multithreading. And if they dont kill the mac mini line completely after 2014, it is unlikely they will refresh the line with quad core i7 CPUs anyway (to push buyers towards imacs). Think Different - Buy Quad i7!

I heard Mac mini in future would either be killed of or run on arm. But Why u said it is unlikely they will refresh the line with quad core i7. So the rumors are indeed true?

i think apple shot themselves in the foot.

if they sell apple mbp, mac mini, imac 21" and user-upgradable parts like ram and hdd....

i think many ppl will buy wan. why make it like that ?

just like sony ps2 can mod then ppl will buy the machine to play ahem games.

now ps3 / ps4 cannot mod then sales go down liao

I think no more stock.
When I hooted mine on 17th, 1 left. Went back same shop only i5 left and hooted the i5 anyway.
Note that the 2012 models are selling at 2014 prices. Starting with 2012 base model at $688, the i7 at $948. I hooted both.

Try Infinity at Simlim, they have more in stock. They carry Crucial ram for Mac.

The dual hdd kit for mac mini 2012. It includes the bracket.
But installing 2 discs is more challenging than changing one.

Early models of the top range broadwell mobile processors (Core-M) have proved to be disappointing due to long battery life at the expense of speed throttling. If Mac Mini is refreshed in another two years they will probably be running the same 1.4GHz dual core processors. Using energy efficient processors for a non laptop form factor is going to be Apple's Mac Mini strategy going forward... don't hold your breath for mac mini 2016 with hex-core desktop broadwell processors - Buy Different. Buy Ivy Bridge Quad Core Mac Mini before they sell out!

Those still interested can still go Funnan Centre Havery Norman. I brought mine i7 2012 mac mini for $948 with free 8GB Ram and +$79 for another 8GB yesterday . Think only 2 left.
