hi

just went out to get the mac mini 2.6ghz. completed the set up but i am not able to type the character "@" - ie. shift 2. i paired the mac mini with the apple wireless kb and mouse which i was using with my mbp. no problem then.

any guru can help?

ok. managed to solve it. i have to choose the UK kb instead of the US which I normally use for my MBP. weird.

I think for base model, $638 2012 is still having a faster cpu than the $688 2014. Maybe the $948 2014 is better than the $638 2012 but will be better spent on the $638 2012 PLUS SSD, 2nd HDD kit and RAM upgrades?

Probably refurbished one from here because new ones are only sold by Apple or the Premium Resellers and they don't keep old models.

You'll need to always keep a lookout because the models you want may appear as and when.

Otherwise you can buy used ones from other users on ebay or carousell or something...

If the 2012 is better value, how much will RAM cost, and how much for a 2Tb HDD?

You can use RAM module sizes of 2 GB, 4 GB or 8 GB in each slot. For best performance, don't mix sizes of memory modules. Install two identical memory modules.

Yes, bought a Dell S2340L and connect it via the Mac Mini's HDMI port.
