MacBook pro or windows laptop

The mba wins on all accounts other than the retina screen - yes it has a SSD.

If money is a concern I would go for the mba (ts has some money issue) unless you plan to do some serious video editing/photo editing work and you need a better gfx card

Bt mba processor is nt as fast,does it lag as compared to rmbp?

My almost maxed out RMBP (512GB instead of 1TB SSD) is with DHL delivery courier now... Going to slowly replace it with my 2011 MBA...

Wow that must b ex.. I think 256gb ssd is gd enuf... My old lenovo laptop im currently using now think abt 300gb hdd only, bt till today its still nt full...

MBA is very portable, so good for road warriors on the go. MBP is more for serious work such as photo/video editing and more intense computing work.

The choice is up to the individual so both are indeed good choices, as long as it's a MacBook.

Bt if wanna work on resource intensive programs like c++ programming,mba can't handle it right?

I'm sure still can but u need more RAM such as 8GB to run smoothly. If u're talking about AutoCAD or Unigraphics, then MBP.

Sorry I meant slowly transit from my 2011 MBA to this RMBP! Price is about 3.5K range... but it's definitely work it for business use!

I'm not sure about programming, but I use it for content creation for my work... my MBA can do some work on Adobe Creative Suite just fine. I guess should OK for programming!

What C++ programming are you doing that a MBA can't handle?

Question is why should you be using your laptop as a compilation platform if it is a huge complicated development ? You can easily get computing resources today from cloud if you need

Hehe wow, TS still having a lot of dilemma about getting a new Mac.

I think should get an iMac lah, no need to worry about battery life. Carrying is easy as it's an AIO computer(exclude mouse and keyboard). 1tb fusion drive is not as fast as an SSD but still better than a standard HDD. Don't think will have issues with programming.

21.5" + 8gb RAM + 1tb fusion drive = $2068.

And the fact that loads of old data, documents etc all windows based

Easy to decide on iPad or iPhone but computer different story

every time buy computer, for sure will consider Apple but never choose it in the end becos too ex

Maybe when Microsoft release new Apple office software, will come and consider again

For now, happy with iPhone6+, iPad air2 and ipad2

Those are likely not data files, not that it can't be, just unlikely. They are applications files. More like you should be looking for Mac equivalent of the same software found in Mac OS X platform, or search for alternative software that does the same thing.

Alternatively you can always run Parallels with Windows in it to use those applications that you may take some time to port over.

Well i already know that, just couldn't figure out what file formats that only windows can open.

LOL, i'm not the one here for answers...

U probably werent aware i wasnt the one that have dilemma on moving to mac because of "windows based data" - whatever that means.
