If you have MACs on your passport, CIQ officer would want you to go through MACs checkout rather than by officer. I don't know how the officer would react, but my in-law told me she got addressing by the officer but eventually let her go through without MACs. Yesterday, my vendor told me the same problem because he has MACs and was scolded for using the officer queue.
So really wish you well since you are going through JB with MACs and then off from KL airport.... Like my in-law, kana questioning for illegal entry as there was no record on her passport. Not sure why this has to happen, stupid isn't it? legal entry at one point turn illegal at another....

This MACs thing sounds them stupid cause they can't even standardise the database.Might as well rename the thing to Johor Bahru Automated clearance since only can enter and exit from JB. Anyway, I am not going to apply for it cause I don't' trust bolehland system especially after they allowed passengers carrying fake passports to board MH370. Will be damn jialat if they anyhow check and forget to scan my mac sticker.

The MACS is actually meant for easy access to the Iskandar zone, so it is not a far stretch to say it is a JB Automated Clearance System. It is meant for business people from the onset. The scheme was later expanded to allow people like you and me to enter JB easily.

any requirements for applying macs?

Last time when I first apply, it require you to have min. 4 times entry to Malaysia.

The 2nd time I apply, New passport they require me to enter at least 1 time before I can apply. (However the officer told me to go immigration counter & say u need a entry stamp for MACS, do not walk pass the gate and turn back to apply after stamp)

If i am not wrong MACS office closes at 5 or 6pm daily.
The office is within the secure area of customs building in JB. Ask the officer when u enter JB.

Now school holidays. Custom there always jam. Need to queue more than 1 hr to pass thru customs.

Pay rm30 and pass thru in less than 1 min. Worth it.
