disappointed with mari bank. i applied and says unsuccessful 1st time. 2nd time apply, limit me to $500. 3rd time re-apply give me up to $2500

is this a joke? how come they keep changing ?
Hi, I also faced the same problem as yours as I just got my Mari CC approved with a pathetic $500 limit after some unsuccessful applications previously, which I guess I got no income at all since I am a retiree.

By the way, how did you "Re-apply" for the CC again with a higher credit limit since you already have your current existing CC?

Ownself reply ownself - for tracking and also for others to know if this promo is decent.

Charged 5 EUR online for a product.
Got charged 7.46 with 0.22 as fee which would be returned.

Assuming that the 1% kicks in, my total spend on this 5 EUR
7.46 * 99% - 0.22 = ~7.1654

Alterntives (Debit card) as of this post date and time.
- Youtrip, which is at 5 EUR -> 7.21 SGD
- Revolut, which is at 5 EUR -> 7.24

--- Update 22 March 2025 @ 12PM as i didn't want to spam this thread

Charged 36.75 EUR for a product.
Got charged 54.98 SGD with 1.6 SGD as fee which would be returned.

Assuming that the 1% kicks in, my total spend on this 5 EUR
54.98 * 99% - 1.6 = ~52.84 SGD

Alterntives (Debit card) as of this post update and time using the EUR to SGD conversion which i might have not previously.
- Youtrip, which is at 36.75 EUR -> 52.78 SGD
- Revolut, which is at 36.75 EUR -> 53.67 SGD (Weekend tax?)

If you have no income (recent CPF, NOA), regulations don't allow anything more.

Gotten 0.61 SGD cashback on 22 Apr as part of the overseas spend promotion for march spent
One thing i don't like is how there is no "View Related Transaction" compared to the normal cashback details and the information is quite sparse though it reference the campaign name. At the very least, they should include the month in the name

With this, quite a decent promotion and can be an alternative to Trust or those popular pre-paid cards services like Youtrip or Revolut till 30 June 2025.

Thanks for sharing. Does it mean it's better than Trust cash back card for June spending since mastercard fx rate is more favourable?

Lol didn't see this earlier.
Hard to say as Mari is Mastercard while trust is VISA and FX rates changes. MC may not always be favourable

At the very least, with this ongoing promo, you can simply use the Mari card for overseas purchase instead of only using the trust card.
1 more choice is still 1 more choice.

But if you are the type that already allocated trust card for overseas spending, then i would say just stick with trust and ignore this promo, since everyone got their own habits

Use both cards on a trip and compare, swipe alternate also in case one slightly better, than won't feel fomo 😂

Does trust show the pending exchange rate after swipe?
I know mari, dcs do.
Scb does not
It does.

For Visa exchange calculator click here
For Mastercard exchange calculator click here

Your input for bank fees in above links:
Trust - 0%
SCB - 3.5%
Mari - 3%
DCS - 3.25%

Note, above fees do not take rebates into account.
