Anyone planning to put 150k in to get the $150?
I only put $4k, all my savings.
I calc for $150k, u will get only 7.4% p.a. under this promo. Not worth it if u can get higher yield elsewhere.

My guess is the instant withdraw is executed on the Maribank side rather than LionGlobal side, as long as they have more subscriptions than redemptions at a given period, they will have positive cashflow. In theory they can tap on the positive cashflow to payout first without needing to make an actual redemption from LionGlobal.
After the promo on 16 jun, I expect more redemptions than subscriptions. We can observe the yield then. Hehe

they want to grow the overall numbers so put the bait
may not be wise to expose too big amount outside SDIC for the small bait
dunno what will happen after activity end and the tide receeds
only limited to first 5000 qualified participants .... it's not guaranteed , cannot compare with other guaranteed returns

imo this is a psychological exercise , make people feel confident even if they pull out after activity , it create a memory they "survived" so next time if put in same or bigger amount they more likely to agree

I absolutely agree with you on this. I am not topping up. Prefer to merry go round my funds in SCB.

Maybe just a heads-up on the fees for anyone interested or the old birds to know.

1 more month till the fee promotion ends
https://www.maribank.sg/help-centre/article/10208-what-are-the-fees-charged-on-my-investments

"As part of our promotion, the annual management fee for the Lion-MariBank SavePlus fund, charged by the fund manager Lion Global Investors (LGI), will be 0.125% p.a. until 30 Jun 2024.

Thereafter, from 1 Jul 2024, the annual management fee for the Lion-MariBank SavePlus fund will be 0.25% p.a."

What's the possible impact to this? Lower returns?

What I have learnt in mutual fund investing is if the fund manager is able to deliver the returns you want paying them a bit more in fees is ok with me. There are funds with lower fees but over some time period it does not perform. So while fees is everything it is also not everything.

E.g some employers willing to pay more to get better workers for better productivity over cheaper workers but not as productive.

Was about to buy in until I realised that it will only be for the first 5000 qualified participants...

I've got another noob question. Is the daily return compounded daily? In the FAQ, the answer is yes. But it doesnt seem so when looking at my daily return.

this is a good question. most of the fund are mas bills which div arent compounded daily. the return should be compounded but not on daily basis.
