how do i view the queue no of the day?

Click on "MyHDBPage" >>> Login via Singpass >>> Click on "My Flat" >>> Click on "New Flat" located on the left hand side >>> Choose the application that you have applied and you can see the Queue Number of the day. Similarly, you can call HDB Hotline to find out.

Which unit to go?

Hi all, can anyone suggest which block unit is better for Mcnair Tower?
I personally prefer the #270 for its layout but the unit is beside corridor...

Thanks everyone for responding!!! Looks like it is still a tossing a coin on this one. Anyway, given my queue number, can get something above 15floor, that will make my day :s12:

Heard the newer model has better insulation at the roof, not some lousy tiles insulation like my current home, trap a lot of heat at night.

Ya if you are unlucky to get a faulty roof, be prepared to spend alot of time and effort on it.

The temperature at the top of the stack will still be hotter than the rest of the units below simply because of greater surface area on the roof. Or if you are unlucky enough and the roof leaks maybe it will be more cooling haha. There are quite a number of horror stories of the amount of tachi that happens when getting them to fix the roof, which in the meantime your false ceiling, furniture, flooring etc may be damaged.

Just curious whether this is really true with the new HDB -- I heard a lot of people say that which side windows are facing is a lot more important to determine whether it will be hot or not. :s11:

Oh well, not that I will get much a chance to choose the top floor unit :look:

I am surprised noone has taken the higher floors for MT unit 264. I have recced the location and i believe the views for this unit (above 28 floors) will be superb. Will have largely unblocked views of the city, Kallang area, and can see fireworks once the new stadium is completed.

And no afternoon or morning sun too..

Maybe due to budget...

Actually I would have thought that budget should be more of a concern considering that the majority of the people applying should be first timers. However it looks like even for the 4rm flats, most are selecting units at least 20 storeys and above. For a 600k unit, the stamp duty is around 12k. That's money that vanishes into thin air. I also calculated that for a 500k loan, given interest of 2.6% per annum. The total interest paid at the end of 30 years would be roughly one third of the principle sum. ie. For a 500k loan you would pay around 170k additional in interest at the end of 30 years.

To me this means that there is little margin of error particularly since the CPF going into the OA starts dropping at around 45 years of age and when you hit 50 years of age the CPF contribution rate itself starts dropping.

I'm actually quite curious how many people will end up forfeiting their deposit when the keys are ready in 5 years time.

Last Queue Number invited for selection of a 3-Room flat in Kallang / Whampoa under the May 2012 BTO exercise as at 11 Jul 2012 : 00012

At the moment only 4 units are booked.
That means 8 dropouts on the 1st day itself?

I'm sure everyone has their reason and budget for selecting their house. But I agree with you, it is important to do sums and make sure that both can pay for the house when the time comes.
