4 room
11 selection 1 Drop out 10 selected :- 10 chinese
Total unit :888
Unit still available : 694
Selection Q number : 252
total number of selected unit 888 - 694 = 194
total number of drop out 252 - 194 = 58
% drop out is 58/252 x100% = 23.02 %

And base on the Ethnic Quota
Chinese : 582
Malay :190
Others : 95

If all remaining unit from tomorrow is selected by chinese the last q number before the ethnic Quota for chinese is reach would be 252 + 572 = 824.

And should there be no more drop out the q number will end @ 888+ 58 = 946

With 824 chinese will be the last slot if all chinese selectors from now on. Based on the low takeup of malay n others race. 850+ maybe the last chinese slot. with drop out of 20%. The last chinese slot will be 990.

i agree.. plus i have a feeling that people may also choose to drop out when thier q number comes simply because the unit or units they had targeted are already taken up..hence my estimation is that by oct the drop out would be more than 35% as there will be less choicest units.. this in turn would translate opportunity to those with high q numbers.. especially me!! hehe...

My appt date is also in Oct.
I really hope as time pass, the dropout rate will increase.

So far the take-up rate for 'others' is relatively low.
Started with 41 units, only 6 units taken up so far.
If it goes on like this, we would still be able to get a reasonably good unit since my appt date falls on early Oct.

If what they say about couples forced to give up their good unit due to some circumstances is true, that would be great news. :)

yes.. ive read somewhere that people have had to give up because of the many requirements HDB imposes which people arnt fully aware of initially when they sign up for the bto exercise..then,also, u know the price factor is greater here at this kw.. a flat with the same sqft is about $290,000 plus in punggol whereas here it averages around a hefty $550,000!!!.. so all this makes me hopeful and hopefully i hope you and i hop our way this oct to the hdb hub and make it happen.. cheers!! :)

Does ur appt date fall in early Oct too?
I'm chindian (indian-chinese) n my other half is Eurasian so we fall under the 'others' category.

Are you also taking the 3 room?

I will strongly urge people who got the q number to choose one unit even it is not a choice units. Bendemeer lights is a once in a life time opportunity, people who drop out are missing the following

2 mrt within 300m walking distance.
2 Sheng Siong oulet(mcnair and jalan besar)within 200m for cheap grocery
Cheap and good food at bendemeer market and lavender sq
5-10 min drive to orchard, novena, city hall and bugis
5 mins walk to jalan Besar stadium with swimming pool
A chance to have a million dollar view at half the price(for some)
A sep school(hong wen)
KFC,singpost and banks within walking distance at towner.
A nice prata shop near towner road
Beach road scissor rice
Mustafa and city sq shopping centre

You think it over is bendemeer lights better than clementi or Ang mo kio or even bukit merah. I would think so...

I can safely said even the most expensive home in Singapore don't have all the amenities mention within walking distance

Q number end @ 263

Break down on Ethnic Quota :

AT BL

Malay : 86
Chinese : 255
Other : 47

If all chinese from tomorrow onward ,select a unit in BL.
The last q number before quota for chinese at BL is reach would be 263+255 = 518

AT MT

Malay : 103
Chinese : 312
Other : 48

If all chinese from tomorrow onward ,select a unit in MT.
The last q number before quota for chinese at BL is reach would be 263+312 = 578
