if you're worried, try a month (and fulfill the requirements) first, don't transfer the funds over yet

then end of month call their customer service to check if you managed to fulfill the requirements, if OK then next month transfer the funds

Ok! I saw my Giro, hire purchase (car loan) and salary are all set up, it is too late to get the interest if I transfer my monies into this account tomorrow (1st July) or next Monday?

doesn't matter, u will still get the bonus interest (just pro-rated since it's based on average daily balance) :s12:

With effect from 1 June 2017, customers will have even more options to choose from, to help them achieve the maximum interest of 3% p.a. under the Maybank Save Up Programme. The deposit cap for the bonus interest will also be raised, so customers can enjoy higher interest on the first S$60,000 in their SaveUp Account, up from the current S$50,000.

Outdated liao, already mentioned above and I got my 3% interest on 60K for last month.

Anyone tried charging foreign currency on the credit card? Does it contribute to the $500 credit card requirement?

Yes, foreign currency transaction is eligible, as per their T&Cs for the qualifying transactions.

Q3. Are all types of transactions included in the aggregation of the minimum spend of S$500?
Only retail transactions charged to Maybank Platinum Visa Card and/or Maybank Horizon Visa Signature Card are included in the aggregation of the minimum S$500 spend. Card transactions which are not eligible for rebates include:

- transactions arising from the use of the Card at an ATM or NETS;
- FlexiCash, Cash advance, Fund Transfer, 0% Instalment Payment Plans,
FlexiPay, EZ-Link, Transit Link, Skrill, AXS, SAM, interest charges, late payment charges, finance charges, annual fees, reversals and other miscellaneous charges charged by a Customer to his/her Card.
- any refunded, disputed, unauthorised or fraudulent retail purchases as well as Goods and Services Tax (GST); and
- any amount charged to Cards that are subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed. The amount will be deducted from the total spend amount in the month that it is cancelled, voided or reversed.

HOWEVER, foreign currency transactions are not eligible for the quarterly credit card rebates >>> http://info.maybank2u.com.sg/pdf/cards/tnc-platvisa-rebate.pdf (final point on page 1)

Maybank has clarified that foreign currency transactions are eligible transactions to contribute to the monthly spending (the SGD equivalent amount will be used for tabulation).

Other rebates cards like Singpost, UOB One Card all adopt similar phrases in their T&Cs, if otherwise the information will be reflected in the listed of excluded transactions.

Check first before shooting so you won't share wrong information

I don't know about payments via axs/sam. Better to check their T&C. My insurance deductions are set up to deduct directly from the credit card.

i see i see. how do you do that? do you arrange with the maybank or with the insurance company?

Depends which requirements for bonus interest you can meet. And note no rebate for spending on SCB bonusSaver card

Hi guys,

I saw earlier in this thread that Maybank give rewards for paying income taxes via GIRO but could not find anything on their website. The link in this thread did not work. Does anyone know if this is still up and running?
