Just updated to latest firmware and quite surprise that my iPhone still can pick up 2 bars signal (max 3 bars) from my 2.4Ghz frequency when I'm at the void deck. Btw, I'm staying on 9th floor.

NAT Loopback

ASUS RT-AC68U router does support NAT loopback without hardware acceleration enabled. ASUS are working together with Broadcom on this issue in regards with the hardware acceleration module that impacting NAT loopback

From the man himself on ASUS RT-AC56U/ASUS RT-AC68U NAT loopback :)

NAT Loopback is known to be broken when HW acceleration is enabled on the AC56/AC68U. Nothing I can do about it, the HW acceleration module is closed source. A fix will have to come from Broadcom or Asus.

PS ~> if one concerned about not getting full WAN~LAN speed without enabling hardware acceleration on 300Mbps over less plan, you might be mistaken, i have tested > 300Mbps WAN~LAN without hardware acceleration.

Could you please share how your friend finally managed to connect the Asus RT-AC 68 to ST fibre ONT? What are the settings, or any other tips? Also, did he sign-up recently (since July 2013) for ST fibre? Thanks a lot in advance.

I'm thinking of getting this router as it supports Time Machine backups. Anyone think its worth the $$ compared to getting the AC66?

I only know he upgraded his plan recently to ST 150Mbps and spent almost 3hrs trying to have it connect. Not sure whether he had solve the MioTV issue by now.

He told me during the setup need to click "special requirement from ISP" then select Singtel-Mio from a drop down list.

Thanks a lot for prompt reply.
Didn't see this option in the set-up yet. have to look again.
Mio TV not an issue for me as I didn't subscribe. Fibre-home plan only.

He told me saw it during the Quick Setup in the page when asking to choose Auto IP or PPPoE ... bottom page there's a check box "Special ISP Requirement" and after you click that then it will show a drop down list.
