Firmware: 3.0.0.4.378_3123

ScreenShot2014-12-02at115541pm_zpsa138f27e.png

Speed test results:

Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (5Ghz, 80Mhz)
Screenshot_2014-12-02-23-41-56_zps35394614.png

Speed tests on galaxy tab S is pretty decent in this beta release. No dropouts, no random disconnection thus far.

Galaxy Note 4: Running NK3 firmware with Android 4.4.4 (5Ghz, 80Mhz)
Screenshot_2014-12-02-23-49-47_zps196c5417.png

Speed test results are inconsistent and varies. Between sequential tests, I encountered "Network communication issues" from the Speedtest app. When it works, it delivers. When it don't, it simply don't.

LAN speed test result with macbook pro 2014 with retina display, OS X 10.10.1

Wireless-AC result with macbook pro 2014 retina display, OS X 10.10.1
Channel 161, 80Mhz.

In all the wireless speed tests, devices were placed about 3m from the router with no obstruction in between. All wireless devices tested support wireless-AC. Tab S and Note 4 are 2x2 while macbook pro is 3x3.

As you can see, wireless performance is no where near maylyn's. I think this is a device dependent problem. Moreover, I only experienced dropped 5Ghz on note 4, while not on Tab S and macbook pro...

*ignore the ping for my macbook pro, its due to safari..

I did updated to beta 3.0.0.4.378_3123 too earlier after reading from SNB.com forums. Still yet to see dual wan or other feature I've mentioned above.

Thus its still a Porsche with a Toyota Engine.
With this update, they probably only added HIDs and LED taillights replacing the Halogens and Incandescent bulbs.

I can probably assume the next or early 2015Q1 official firmware mentioned won't incorporate those features. But I do hope they fix the 5ghz issue.

Which firmware are you using? As far as I know, M1 shouldn't have such problem..

I am using firmware 2769. Previously on n66u also had to disable hardware acceleration before Internet could work. Tried both level 1 and 2 ctf this time round, both also cannot. Disabled - works smooth, but 300mbps up/down (direct connection to router).

oh then i'm not too sure already.. I know Singtel had this issue when it was first launched, but subsequent firmware updates have solved the issue already..

Some quick run on 3.0.0.4.378.3123 firmware.

Nothing out of the norm, It's rock solid wired @ symmetrical 1Gbps. If anyone still wondering it's capabilities, please check your ISP first lol

One observation tho, there is a latency spike when upload @ 1Gbps speed, hmm nothing of a serious nature, how many are @ 1Gbps upload? ;) Nevertheless i will feedback to ASUS firmware RD accordingly maybe it's a bug from Broadcom SDK7.

So if anyone still think i only post all so nice things about ASUS routers and none no so nice. it's all due to all these are done behind the scenes with ASUS SG/TW to resolve all these nitty bugs.

Another note for 5GHz ASUS RT-AC87U users.

Please do not include spaces, special characters for the WPA2 password for 5GHz for ASUS RT-AC87U, it will make the 5GHz go bonkers or not operable. Please only use alphanumeric characters.

This is a known issue.

Marlyn, is it recommend to restore factory for this version? Since it seem like a major update and not some minor update especially the SDK?

Running this router with a late 2012 Mac Mini. Was on singtel 7002.

On Singtel 7002 5GHZ could get 110MBPS download but now on this 5GHZ can't even download.

On other devices like a newer mac book pro and IOS devices 5GHZ is ok. Strange

Any one having problems with port forwarding? I'm on M1 1gbps with static IP. I have set up port forwarding on 80, 20, and 21 but the damn thing dies and needs to be reapplied daily. Experimenting now to see what it takes to keep it alive, gonna disable firewall for a time to see if that works. This is really turning out to be a piece of poo.

Confirm something to do with firewall, when firewall is toggled on or off the port forwarding works for a few hours then dies again.
