What do u by disconnect? Whenever my phone sleeps it will disconnect me. Reconnect back qhen my screen is on.. is this the problem u r facing?

On Starhub 200Mbps plan, no problem with the AC87U. This is a very solid router. Prior to that, I was using N66U, now I bridged it to AC87U.

While I'm performing these speedtest on the PC, iPad Air & iPhone 6 Plus, my family were streaming movies on the Samsung SmartTV and iPad Mini concurrently.

Windows 8.1 PC via Cat6 Cable

iPhone 6 Plus via 5Ghz

iPhone 6 Plus via 2.4Ghz

iPad Air via 5Ghz

Mine is 5GB still connected, yet shows invalid page. Anyway, I still can live with it. But I feel my Aztech 7003 seems to be performing better.

Route got the latest firmware from Asus. I just hanged on and wait for the next official firmware release. Least, I still can surf.

Done in one of my room not far away from router. During the DL speedtest it n started from high Mbps then slowly decelerate and end with 50+ Mbps final result.

I have had the same problem as well. Download speed is 1/4 of the upload speed. Often about 50-60mbps vs upload of 200+.

In addition, it's very strange but for a month I had no issues with my connection but in the last 2 weeks, the wifi connection would just be cranky. Connection is fine but not Internet. When I turn off wifi on my iPad and iPhone and reconnect, it would suddenly be fine. Same for my asus Laptop. When I restart the router, it would be fine for 2 days before the problem happens again. Can anyone help?

Hi guys, i just bought the ac87u at the sitex, was unable to connect to my singtel fiber broadband, after going thru the helps here by my uncle, i was able to get the internet up.
But as i do not have miotv do i still have to set the " select ISP profile" to "singtel-others" because this setting the lan port 4 will be use for miotv right? Or i still can use it for my pc?

Media Bridge Between 2 Asus 87

Is it possible to connect lan cable between 87 (Bridge) and the Fiber Modem. And the second 87 (wireless router) at the center position in my house? Can it work this way?

Weird internet speed with AC87U

I have the AC87U and the speed of the 5ghz is very unstable. Did a speedtest and the results are download: 52.22mbps and upload at 206.60mbps. Anybody have any advises? Out of my wits. Any settings to set to balance my upload and download speed? I am on Singtel fibre 200mbps plan

First of all, which firmware are you using?

What devices are connected to it?

Well generally, ur results are kinda similar to mine..

Mine too.. after much research, its the firmware limiting it.. for my 200mbps, my download is always around 150 ish and upload ard 224mbps.. i guess we could only wait a while more for a stable release..

Why do you say it's the firmware issue? Others using the same firmware has no issue. Would really appreciate if anyone could shed any light.

This happen to many series of ASUS router.
The only way to fix it is move to other brand.

not many options for me, as not many support vlan tagging...

After replacing the faulty one, this replaced router does not cause the 5Ghz band to be undiscoverable for no reason.. So yeah, my old router was faulty.

But this new one inherits the usual kns 5Ghz performance, but then again, what else can i do..

if you read wide enough, independent experts have mentioned about the firmware causing such meagre performance. Some other users may not face the same problem as they are not using the same configuration and wireless clients as you.

if you could find a way to overcome this, share with us..
