Update on this discussion
Hi all, this is just a summarized version of the discussion and a little on my personal opinion.
If you are planning/looking to go to china to study MBBS in English, please read this summary.
DO NOT GO TO STUDY ENGLISH MBBS IN CHINA,unless you are ready to throw everything away in Singapore.
MBBS in China, be it English or Chinese taught is not recognized in Singapore. Currently (Sept 2020), all 4 universities in China that are listed in 2nd schedule of the Singapore medical Council, do not allow international students to apply for their Masters/Doctor of Medicine program. Some do however, like Peking university, allow international students to only apply for their MBBS (in english) program.
To even be eligible to submit an application to be a Singapore Doctor, you need to enroll in the DIRECT Masters/Doctor of Medicine program which is only catered to China nationals and it is taught in CHINESE. The direct program means you directly and only get one qualification when you graduate, which is a masters/doctor of medicine. It is not i study Bachelor of Medicine, then graduate liao apply for masters/doctor of medicine.
Lets say you're willing to risk it all and study a MBBS English program in China. And then work in China after that. What's so bad about that? Well, let me tell you this: Before you become a doctor in China, you need to take the medical licensing exam which is in CHINESE. Lets say you study like siao, and you finally became a doctor in China, wow end game liao right! Can enjoy the experience of being a doctor liao right! You have never been so wrong, in fact chinese doctors make an average of 15k SGD a year, equivalent of 1.25k SGD a month for you. Come on man, you study for 5-6 years, study like siao for another language, in the end the salary is worst than a university intern in Singapore, what's the point?
You must be saying then, what if i don't come back to Singapore, and be a doctor in China or maybe come back when i become a specialist? Well, Junior Chinese doctors are abused daily by senior doctors, most have no hope of promotion unless they further their studies into their CHINESE language Masters/PhD. If you don't have these qualifications, you can rot in a 2nd tier city's hospital forever. Having these qualifications only gives you a chance to apply to first tier city's hospital. Don't forget, in China there are still at least thousands of doctors graduating a year, everyone is fighting for a position in first tier city's hospitals, you think you stand a chance?
If by some luck, and maybe years of grinding and enduring, maybe you will be lucky enough to be a specialist in China.Only then can you apply back to Singapore and hope Singapore accepts you.
In my humble opinion, you're better off studying elsewhere honestly. I know the 2nd schedule didn't really give us alot of choices, but taking a break from studying and save up some money before going overseas is a much better choice than choosing a china mbbs.
