1) It has been near to a year & discussion still going on.

2) You needs to have a recognized qualification from SMC in order to practice in Sg. MBBS from PRC is not a recognized qualification from SMC.

3) However if you, as a PRC MBBS holder & meet other SMC requirement such as MO with experience, are headhunt by Sg, they will help you with Temporary Registration.

4) But if you, as a PRC MBBS holder & meet other SMC requirement such as MO with experience, come to Sg on your own to find a sponsoring hospital for a job, no one will entertain you even if you are a SPR due to complication.

5) To play around with SMC requirement & MOHH 'hiring policy' if you are someone in point 4 situation, you needs to have membership from other professional bodies like Royal College of Surgeons, United Kingdom to get Conditional Registration.

6) So if you only have a Temporary Registration & wonder if there is any prospect in Sg? The answer is no unless you get a membership from other professional bodies like Royal College of Surgeons, United Kingdom to get Conditional Registration.

7) After getting Conditional Registration, you just needs to top up Staff Registrar Scheme (SRS) Diplomas & etc to get Full Registration with SMC.

8) So for those who want to get a cheap MBBS, why go PRC with so many uncertainty from SMC where you can just get it from India? They do conduct classes in English by right...

No intention to come back. But apparently theres already been quite a few seniors who came back and did the QE and got a TR.

As for point 4, im a local, not a spr btw. They do have an internship program after your final year in either prc or abroad (if you can source ) to give that experience. Some seniors took this chance to do it in sg or uk etc.

India isnt cheap. I went to check it out. About 20 to 25k usd a year for the recognized list.

1) Just for your information that I have a PRC friend who was a Medical Registrar & he went to NUH for 'internship' at that time. I don't think the internship you mention is helpful that consider horsemanship to help you move on to Medical Officer if you decided to come back to Singapore & practice as a doctor.

2) MOHH with SMC actually allow FT who do not have recognized qualification to work in Singapore as a doctor under Temporary Registration. FT come Singapore to work on contract basis that tag on their work pass duration. FT will use this time to get membership from other professional bodies like Royal College of Surgeons, United Kingdom (Surprisingly, the exams to get membership are conducted in Singapore) to get Conditional Registration.

3) Your case is different because you are a local with a non-recognized MBBS. Your complication is actually related to political reason. If they accept you, can you imaging how many Singaporeans will go overseas like China to get a non-recognized medical degree like MBBS & MD? This is the reason why they will never accept your case. Of course, there maybe a loophole that I may not know of.

4) End of day, if you have no intention to come back to Singapore to practice as a doctor, then carry on to get a SMC non-recognized qualification. But have you thought about the problems you may face such as securing Clinical Placement as a Medical Student or even get a doctor job with a sponsoring hospital for horsemanship in China?

2) yeap ive seen it, they usually fill up the gaps in polyclinics etc.

3) its not a matter of accepting or out of politics. Everything has a due process. If I have to TR when I get back and slowly get a CR, then it is what it is. Its longer and more pek cek compared to going to uk or us etc.

The issue is the fees that many of us cant fork out. Not to mention duke nus is expensive as well, so it was out of the question for me.

As for loopholes, I honestly cant say, but I only know of the QE.

4. Clinical placements.. youre refering to the attachments etc.? They have them from year 3 to 5 at the uni hospital (my uni has 3 hospitals), excluding the 1 year compulsory housemanship that they will provide at their hospital or if you can source yourself at your home country.

My only worries is actually preparing for the USMLEs or PLABs to practice in uk/us respectively.

Currently there are many sg students in my uni alone, around 20 or 25. When I get more info on how things work from them directly (rather than just the student agent and the uni admin office) ill update here

Even with his network from his wife who work as a Registered Nurse & 'seniors' who work as Doctor in various hospitals in Singapore, those hospitals also don't entertain him.

This allow you to meet Conditional Registration requirement that have the same standing as local graduates to increase your chance of success.

I am not familiar, i researched other parts of eastern europe, but its too ex as well. Not keen on learning mbbs in any other language except english.

1) Unfortunately the objective of Singapore Government is to limit school leavers to progress the next higher education level in order not to over supply of graduates and rely on foreigners if there is an addition demand in the job market.

2) When you can easily get foreigners by cohort to fill up junior doctors (HO & MO level) under Temporary Registration, why do Singapore Government even concern if there will be a shortage of Singaporean Doctors? Please be reminded that this cohort will become senior doctors (Registrar & Consultant level) in years to come & a new cycle of foreigners by cohort will fill up the role of junior doctors.

3) My friend end up in Nursing School & serve his sponsorship bond as a Registered Nurse in Singapore. Not sure if he will break or complete his bond but he will apply for next exam for membership from other professional bodies like Royal College of Surgeons, United Kingdom. His main objective is still to become a Doctor in Singapore.

4) If you become a Specialist in China or a Junior Doctor in other countries like ireland, us, uk & etc, why even bother to come back to Singapore & start from HO again?

In Russia, Medical Schools like I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy, Saint Petersburg State Medical Academy & etc conducted their course in English.

I am not familiar, i researched other parts of eastern europe, but its too ex as well. Not keen on learning mbbs in any other language except english.
