wow, quite expensive in view of a china phone.

Price & specs is relative to your needs & wants ...

just a few examples of PRC brands & Price range ...

even Xiaomi is hitting USD$532= SGD $721 (before local dealer profit & Spread)

Xiaomi Mi Note Pro phablet announced with Snapdragon 810 and 4 GB of RAM

Oppo

N3 - SGD $849 - Price inside suntec store
R5 - $669 - Price inside suntec store
Find 7 - $719
OPPO Mobile Singapore

so relatively, Meizu price is much cheaper than the above & other PRC brands (huawei & vivo) ... but whether the phone is suitable for you or the general public is another story :)

Hi Veek

Thanks again for your reply, one more question please ..
since Meizu has no APP Drawer, how about do you find/locate the app Widgets ?

if you ever use Apex Launcher please give us a feedback, see if it still smooth, or hangs / lag or other usual findings

cheers!

No worries, will share as mcuh info as I know.

To add widgets, just long-click on a blank space on the screen.

I just installed Apex, about 5 seconds ago, will give feedback soon!

if you ready stock in SG, you can try ADIX82 -
but bear in mind this is PRC model (does not come with Google Play store, but Adix will help you install)

https://www.facebook.com/adix82?ref=br_tf

Meizu Mx4 Pro 32GB Variant arrived at Adix82.The... - Love Your SmartPhone & Gadget The adix82 Way

for me, i am waiting for the Malaysia edition ...

I think at least Adix provides 1 year warranty? I wanted to get from them instead of Lazada but they didn't have the 32GB version then.

the biggest drawback i feel for MX4 Pro is not that you cant remove the battery but rather the lack of external memory function, so you are stuck with whatever you bought, 16G, 32G or 64G.

so best buy min 32G, or better 64G if you can find ....

ps: i also went to Adix82 shop, about 3-4 weeks back, and asked about the 32G ...but he only have a 16G MX4 Pro for sale and was selling much higher than SGD $600 !!!!
reason was that the phone came from a 2yr PRC telecom contract ...
but since then his price has dropped ....

Hi veek,

so if you long press the space, you can add the widget ...
but how about do you choose the widget in the first place - since no app drawer?

ie, where are all the widgets located ? at some folders ??

also can you still remember how much FREE AVAILABLE Storage space that you can use off the phone ?

does MX4 PRO come with lots of bloatware or just simple application apps - which ones?

if you dont like the bloatware, can you uninstall / delete them?

yes, cant wait for your review on Apex ... i also deciding which App Launcher to use as well :)

cheers!

i have the 32gb mx4 pro
-- answering some questions

1. storage available:: ~24gb (system takes around 3gb)
2. to VEEK: I am using that case from the ebay link, so far so good...Still thinking of getting other cases from taobao/etc if I am going to keep the phone for longer use.
3. Dont really come with a lot of apps (comes with document reader, file manager, appcenter, memo, game centre, security) Think can uninstall some of the tiong apps (baidu map, taobao, alipay, meituan, the telco app, etc)

When you long-click on the screen, you'll get the icon on the bottom left to allow you to select the widget you want to display.

Apex launcher hasn't given any performance degradation so far.

More observations so far:
1. Using Google maps for an hour used about 30% of the battery.
2. Screen uses a lot of battery power.
3. Leaving wifi on without it being connected to any AP also drains faster than normal (using HTC, Huawei and Teclast tablet as comparison). Bluetooth power consumption is negligible.
4. Some Engrish grammatical errors

Also, personally I still prefer Apex launcher to the default :)

can consider nubia z7 series, affordable less than $500 for top end specs.

thanks for your feedback

I like your screen shot ... (Draft Punk in Pulp Fiction ya?)
is that Apex launcher ?

if so, does adding the Widget the same way as Meizu Flyme & Apex .. ? Long press ???

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
point 3: ie the phone must be searching for a WiFi connection that is why battery drain so fast ?

Point 2: apparently that is one of the possible reasons why the AuTuTu score for MX4 Pro is lower than MX4 ... cos QHD+ (have u seen LG G3, Note 4) better, worse / same ? no difference?

Point 4: need to check the Malaysian Version see if they make the same mistake

my guess is ZTE Nubia Z7 ... ?

ZTE Nubia Z7 vs. Meizu MX4 Pro - GSMArena.com

I have not research much into ZTE Z7 so i do not know if they have any special features / functions that sets Nubiz Z7 clearly apart from the competition.

But least I know MX4 Pro has a finger scanner (Gimmicky) and "Audiophile components", QHD+ display, decent camera (but still lose to Lumia 1020 :), come with big battery and many gestures control functions ...

but i do welcome all different OEM / Ecosystem into SG ... so we have more choices and hopefully cheaper phones to try !

No that's the screen shot for Flyme, for Apex launcher there are multiple ways to add a widget, including long press.

Point 2: Could be! Also, I turned the gesture feature off and the screen is using less proportion of the battery which leads me to think that when the phone's in the pocket, it may sometimes detect movement and cause the unlock screen to launch.

Point 3: Yes I believe it is searching for wifi, but for htc and huawei, they don't use that much power when searching.

Anyone know which reliable website sells mx4 pro 64GB?

Official International Meizu online shop - also dun have 64G as well ... price is $$

Product mx4pro - Official Meizu Mart

alternatively, wait for the Official Malaysia online store ... see if they want to bring in 64G .. their 32G price is much cheaper though ....

http://www.meizumalaysia.com/index.php?route=common/home

apparently, they have 6 Flagship physical shops set to open this month / march ...

alternatively, you can find Adix82, see if he can / got stocks for PRC version for 64G.
