I went ytd also.
SUAY, wrong choice of day!

There are hardly any shops opened. I even brought along my fav shirt so that they can have a rough idea of the kinda length and fit i like lor.

So, exactly when is the best time and day to go huh?
And ya, which shops are the more recommended ones u guys visisted and satisfied with?

Btw, its the Peninsula just besides Funan right? Not the other one across that small street?

like meeting clients?
Even so, must also see the industry of your job and how high your designation is lor.

Sometimes, if your designation too high, its not very nice if you turn up something chio chio fashionable with an impt client mah, right?:)

However, maybe if your industry is in the creative or entertainment line, then quite ok bah. Coz your looks do matter abit. :)

IMHO a one-buttoned jacket is quite dressy... excellent for that D&D
if u're looking for a "corporate image" a 2 button or 3 buttoned jacket would probably be more appropriate just button up the top(for 2 buttoned) or just the middle (for 3 buttoned)
actually one buttoned jackets suit slimmer bodies better... so if u're bulky u may like to reconsider too

What did you do to your sleeves? I have a few shirts which had sleeves that were 3-4cm too long for my liking. Is it possible to alter them? Would it affect the infrastructure of the shirt?

how much did they charge u for sleeve alteration?

i went to normal alteration booth along the market. they charge $4 for cutting partial of the part above the cuff. the part where the small button is on

if u wan perfect alteration, they have the unsew the whole cuff and the extension part of small button, den cut from the remaining sleeve and den reattach the whole cuff and extension back. this cost $8 and looked juz like before.

last time i wan save $$ so i took my g2k for option1, end up after alteration, the small button too near to the cuff as they cut off from there and it looked wierd. heng its a cheap shirt. if need to alter again i will choose to pay abit more to get better look.

but now i go for tailoring so no such problem anymore lol

Didnt want to wait, so went again today after work.

Walked ard, Personality Men seems ok. So i got a set of shirt and pants there. Its $95+$90.
The pants is kinda more ex than i was expecting. I was thinking in the $70 range... :p

Kinda reminded him to give me a slim fit(not tight fit!) cutting. He told me its either slim fit for more fashionable looking or normal loose for comfort. I chose looks over comfort. :D

Its 2wks of wait then. Will update here again when i got the set. Hopefully its will end up the way i like...

Btw, do anyone know if there is any tailor that will also customise the label at the back? I read in newspapers before that some tailor will customise in your name on the label for u wan. :D

No, i only ask for normal cuff. Coz i think french cuff too fancy for me liaoz. I dun work in banks or whatso, and i dun hold high position also. So dun need something this fancy.:)

Ya lor, i think quite ex also. But then i go Topman buy also need abt $70 le. So if they can do a gd job, i think ok bah...

btw, the other shop which was mentioned in this thread, i think what "tessuti" or something. They seem to be slightly more ex lor. And they also offer eyptian cotton, that one that scary, starting price need $180 le!

u pay for the main fabric nothing else
french cuff/single cuff, initials/no initials, diff fabric for inner collar/same fabric for whole shirt it doesn't matter. most, if not all, will customise your clothings to whatever u like without additional costs
there are some tailors who can do pants like 3 for $100 but fabric will be things like polyester
most of the costs of tailoring depends on the fabric u choose... of course sometimes u can find tailors with the EXACT same fabric for a price difference of +- $10
tessuti has shirt fabrics starting at 80 or 90 i think but i've never made any of those before. mostly 100 or sometimes 120

But the pants which i was charged is also polyester! And its $90... So for a start i dun really get whats the diff btn theirs and those tailors who do like $90 for 3...

But then i cant get any shirts or pants of my size of racks like that, no size lor... :(
Shirts for $95 if they come swee swee, i dun mind. But pants i might think again if i need to make another pair... :p
