just to check, do you all wear grey pants with shirt? my sister say grey is very ah pek. so im seeking advice here lol :D

hahaha
i do have a grey pair of pants.
it depends on your overall look. how your shirt fits and design of ur shirt... shoes, belt etc

the first time i wore my grey pair of pants... one of my ex colleagues laughed at me say i look ah pek
another time i wore a flamboyant shirt with some embroidery on it he said it looks like a curtain

but guess what...
he wears black shoes with a brown belt(that buckle... oh gosh, so fugly i wouldn't wear the belt daily even if u give me $20 to do so) end up i gave him a black belt for his bday lol
his shirt is tucked out so much that only 10% of the belt can be seen most of the time

his fashion sense is a TOTAL FLOP to me so i just smiled and continue wearing lol

grey pants are at least better than grey shirts. Grey shirts can look very ah pek regardless of how the design is like. So must choose the correct kind of grey tones if really look for grey shirts. The only grey shirts that dun look ah pek are those short sleeves with black buttons.

Back to grey pants, maybe you should only try with these two colour combis. White shirts or black shirts. Other colours may look very ah pek.=:p

I read before the most basic match is that belt and shoes MUST be of same color.
NEVER NEVER goes with brown shoes+black belt or vice versa.

I also have always wanted to get a pair of grey color pants. Its all black in my wardrobe, its so boring.
But then i feel its very hard to match a shirt with grey pants, very dangerous....

I seen before guys wearing ash grey color pants with light color shirt(no stripes), look quite gd actually.:)

it's a BASIC rule that apparently many ppl do not know of
maybe for casual wear can bend the rule a little if u want but definitely not for business wear
the shade of the brown/tan should preferably match as closely as possible too

thats y if my ex colleague does not even know of such a rule... lol i don't care what comments he gives me where dressing is concerned

i think a lot of colours can match a white collar... may work better with lighter colours though
darker colours may be a tad too contrasting? just what i think
not my cup of tea though... i always customise my shirts in another way

White collar looks tacky and cheap.

Just get something classic without the white collar.
