its really depend on one built..slim tie is really for those who are tall and lenghty..lol...

if u really wanna get it, check out prada one or ck one (50% on sale at CK store at isetan lido)

broad tie is always in and easier to match for most ppl frame and look more professional imo.

there are lotsa brands available but i usually go for those made in italy... which i assumed are usually nicer in term of design and better made ( i hope)...

else brands like zara, massimo, g2k.. have decents design for easy pocket...

I normally prefer to tailor cos its cheaper (most of the time) and more fitting to your body.

for off the rack, Zara is still the best for me.

speaking of which, any idea if there is any yr end sale from zara?? :D

sama sama...tried a couple of raoul the last couple of days, the cutting for body is passable but the arm area seem to have quite an excessive clothe...which dont give a good silouette.

went pass g2k...managed to get an off the rack blue checked shirt, less another 15% by using credit card. its damn value for$$..

but i guess i have to go back to my regular tailor to make a couple of new work clothes for 2011. lol

crocodile, goldlion, dunhill, rolex....brands generally associated to the old gens but i think they have revamp themselves to be more 'hip' to fit into the current affluent crowd...

uncle brand? honestly i think brand is one thing and the other is how you present yourself.

u can have the most expensive outfit and if u can't pull it off, u are still a piece of crap..

CY, i think u can go for OshKosh B'gosh kind, perhaps more in line with ur age? lol

:s13::s13::s13: i cant stop laughing

I always buy ties from those push carts type.

The designs are quite nice just that not made of silk.

I don't really like wearing ties, so it doesn't matter how expensive it is, it will still feel suffocating to me.

Where can get black cotton pants used for formal wear?

Nowadays like most are polyester and my skin doesn't like polyester stuff (after a few buys in the past).

Even I see G2000 pants are all polyester or polyester blends.

For added info, I'm the buibui type and my thighs are humongous. What kind of pants should I go for? What's the difference between straight-cut, boot-cut or whatever?

Can recommend some brands/places to go?

Paiseh, so many questions. Only recently realised there's a lot of stuff behind all these. TIA. :D

Ployster pants have a "plastic" feeling as they are synthetic material which does not breathe. Cotton are natural fiber that breathes, but cotton pants are not meant for formal wear.

Try wool blend (wool + ployester). Must more comfortable than polyster or polyster blend as the wool breathes. G2000 has wool blend pants as part of the suit. Go and try them out to see whether u like the feeling.

Else, go Robinson or Taka and try Rayon pants if u don't mind "shiny" finishing.

From wiki : Rayon is a very versatile fiber and has the same comfort properties as natural fibers. It can imitate the feel and texture of silk, wool, cotton and linen. The fibers are easily dyed in a wide range of colors. Rayon fabrics are soft, smooth, cool, comfortable, and highly absorbent, but they do not insulate body heat, making them ideal for use in hot and humid climates

For formal pants, it should be straight cut, unless u can pull off a slim cut.

But the cutting from G2000 is bad.

The pants are so big at the thigh area, I can hide a chicken inside.
