Samsung

Went to Funan over the weekend to check out the Win8 launch, absolutely flooded with Win8 devices.
Checked out the Samsung corner at Challenger, was gobsmacked when told that the Sammy SmartPC Pro(the OEM equivalent of the Surface Pro) costs $2.2k+:eek:

I think the MS Surface Pro would end up costing at least 1.8k here, after the automatic price hike that all devices seem to receive once they reach Singapore :s22:

Was the same for the Series 7 Slate...Samsung is ripping Singapore off. The SmartPC Pro is just an evolution of the 7 Slate. It's even plastic shell now, right?
Anyway already got my nice aluminum 7 Slate in Korea last year and still running strong on Win8 since then...cost me 1.6k...worth every penny :-D
And my Surface touching down tomorrow..oh boy, oh boy...

I have a feeling hurricane Sandy is going to cause my order to be delayed.... the flight from CINCINNATI to Hong Kong looks like it'll have to pass through that region.

16th October, right after pre-order release. Was delivered on the 26th as promised. And now obviously has to come here from the US... ;-)

Did you order direct from MS store or use the buyforme service from comgateway?
Thanks

GST

For those who ordered thru comgateway/boarderlessbuys, how much did you pay for GST? Because if i'm not wrong, there is a limitation of S$400 importation into Singapore.
