Actually after using it for a while it's THE selling argument for the Surface. You get a fully portable keyboard and mouse (touchpad) with no increase in bulk or weight, considering you would want a screen cover anyway.
You get quite a few looks out there when flipping around with the keyboard and kickstand in public, lol.
And the iCrowd's dropping jaw when the mouse pointer appears...priceless ;-)

A lot of the reviews of the surface have called out the schizophrenic nature of Win8, with the Live Tile Start Screen and the desktop mode running alongside.
But in the last 24 hours I realise that they way I use a tablet is also schizophrenic. When I want to lie back on the couch and use a touch-interface, the Metro interface is spot on.
But when I want to get serious about my work emails, docs etc then flip out the kickstand and keyboard and use it like a laptop.
This isn't confused, this is the best of both worlds in a single unit
