Any further delay in launching by google and Microsoft in more markets for n10 and surface will impact success in acquiring market share.

of course it would be more expensive if you were to go to US and buy it. but if you imported it from the US and ship it over here to singapore, surface RT is already costing >900SGD, including tax and shipping fee. i highly doubt that if a store were to be set up in singapore, it would cost more than 900 for an RT. i guess it should be around, high 700SGD to low 800SGD, for a 499USD version.

but talking about running these applications...
i'm a little apprehensive, as we all know autocad/photoshops can be pretty resource intensive even on desktops.

even my lousy i5 ultrabook had problem when coding or running emulators on the default 2gb ram with some other background applications. it was already running at 90+ %. in the end i upgraded the ram to 8gb and everything was smooth.

so if the pro comes as announced at 4gb, that may not be enough or maybe JUST only.

you should be aware that changing ram modules is as easy as 123 right? ^^

of course i'm aware. LOL
i've changed RAMs for my own desktop and laptops.

as surface is pretty new and I've not touched it or seen the disassembled surface yet...i'm not sure how easily it's to swap the ram. plus, the surface is quite compactly built.

Do the math, mate... I paid 910 for the 64gb version with cover, shipping and tax.
Of course the naked 499 version would be cheaper. :s8:

Don't think MS has international warranty.

I'd say being able to use it many months earlier while presumably paying less makes quite a big difference. :s13:

Besides, still no news on whether/when the Surfaces are going to be released here. Doubt a MS Store would be popular here, with the number of iOS and Android users. Would be nice though. :D

As mentioned, you'll likely have to send it back to US yourself. Although if/when Surface gets released here you might be able to get them to do it for you locally. MIGHT. If they're nice enough.

just got a surface RT 64...

I didn't buy it... Got it as a gift...

3 days with it..

not bad machine.. Like the nice velvety feel of VapourMG...

Like the Long 16:9 widescreen too.... Such aspect can really be useful for a 10inch tablet.

Super like the kickstand + touchkeyboard... It works better than I initial though so...

The usb port can even powered and run a Portable ext-DVD Drive...

Blotchy Wifi which is a hit and miss sometimes... XDA members says it is due to poor coding.. Hope MS can rectified it..

Super like the seemless intergration with skydrive+facebook

Super dislike the pathetic apps ecosystem.. but understandable that this platform is just less than 3 mths... I miss Flipboard, catch notes and 3rd party web browser..

Super duper like the battery life... which is super long.. hahhaa...

Else... this baby do need more polishing... It is showing great potential to be a really useful device..

Android tablet? = Heck if I have an android phone.. I don't need another tablet to busy myself with...

Ipads? = not so my cup of tea and not worth my time...

For now... I hope MS will be fast enough to push out all the right fixes and apps to perk this baby up...

Surface RT RAM is soldered on. Likely Surface Pro will be soldered on also.

With a 64-bit OS, 4GB RAM will feel like 2GB. Luckily 64bit Win8 uses slightly less than 2GB on boot.

Only user upgradable part is probably the SSD (assuming it's mSATA).
