Haha, I see. Looking for lobangs. Anyway, surface 2 and surface RT price have a huge gap. I suspect surface 2 will cost most than $1500 becos it's using Intel haswell and since surface RT = $266 and surface pro already $1198 plus even if surface 2 is out your school won't also have its stock right?

Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 will be dead on arrival if Microsoft still dares to price it the same like last year. The pro 2 will face stiff competition against the lenovo yoga 2 if its above 1.5k (with keyboard). Price must definitely be below that range.

Microsoft really wouldn't want to face this beast.

Well, they are using the latest intel haswell. They have the reason for using skimming price.

Isn't this the Yoga 11 based on the now outdated Tegra 3? There's a promo at Challenger for the orange colour one IIRC.

I never liked this design. When flipped backwards, you're holding the keyboard like an accordion. Feels very uncomfortable.

Unless you're talking about the Thinkpad Yoga (Haswell Core i5) which is likely to be as expensive as the Thinkpad Helix & goes on sale in USA in November. (around SGD$2600)

Thinkpad Yoga has a raised keyboard backing that go flush with the keys when folded. Although the keyboard keys are locked, the indentations can still be felt but it's still a big improvement over the current Yoga 11.

So far I find Microsoft Surface(s) are generally more affordable after the price cut. Lenovo prices are still very high, the Thinkpad 2 is still $1099.

Anyway, I'd be checking out Baytrail Atom-based hybrids. Looks cheap & good.

Sorry I attached the wrong picture, it should be the yoga 2 pro.

Specs are of below

13.3"
3200 x 1800 pixels
Haswell I7
8gb ram
512gb ssd
backlit keyboard

Microsoft will have to face this if they dare to price it above >1.5k

Yah, this is the Ideapad Yoga 2. I think this will cost $1800 in Singapore & weight 1.4kg for full-specs. It's fully plastic so isn't going to be as durable as Surface Magnesium alloy chassis, assuming MS is using that for 2nd-gen Surface(s).

Surface is for business market. The direct competitor is the Thinkpad Yoga, which I think will cost >$2000.

I doubt they will price the surface pro 2 very high. It's only rumored to be 10" + 128gb ssd so anything above 1.5k would be ludicrous.

It'll probably be the same launch price as Surface but the new cover with battery wouldn't be cheap.
