OK I have tested 3 SSD UASP enclosures and they all perform more or less the same with the Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD. All transfer at a speed of about 240MBps.

This is now being confirmed to be the speed limitation of the SSD inside the SP3....if you ask me.

Try disabling BitLocker. It should speed up the SSD quite a bit.

Thanks, bro!

Any recommendation for a affordable one?

I intend to use it with my SATA II HDD.

Also, what is a good USB 3.0 flash drive to install program on it? Prefer it to be low profile.

Then just buy a SATA II-to-USB 3.0 enclosure will do since the limitation is now on the SATA II HDD

Bro,

any updates on your HDD enclosure result?

I'm also considering getting one as well.

I'm reading reviews of this SSD & it seems the maximum real-world read/write performance is half of the maximum write speed at 246MB/s. That is paired to a SATA3 interface with dedicated read/write channels.

Since UAS emulates SCSI, when copying files on NTFS volumes, maybe the behavior is the same? Like I mentioned previously, best to try on another PC.

Re

Since the SP3 does not support 3G/LTE is it possible to connect to an external modem like the Huawei E5786 or the Samsung Note 4 to surf at 4G+ (300Mbps) using Wi-Fi connection?

If yes, how?

According to the Note 4 spec here it seems the SP3 can be used as a WiFi hotspot

I think it is first 45 days of receipt date.

Ya . The live chat personnel bluff me .

The personnel inform me that if I'm unhappy with the surface pro within 15days of purchase can return it with no charges . Full refund will be given .

Not sure if it's true . So far just back from Bangkok haven open it up . Gotten the i5 128gb with black type cover & docking station at student price .

Turn on Mobile Hotspot in Settings.
If you own a Windows Phone like me, you can connect to the hotspot without turning it on first similar to the Continuity feature in iOS/Mac OS.

For skin and tempered glass you can find Nicholas at Sim Lim Square #05-26B, for adix82 he is selling case and tempered glass only.

You might want to search facebook of adix82 or lappyskins facebook, each of them have their numbers there for you to contact and ask, as prices might change so I cannot confirm with you anything.

I just installed Chrome, and hasn't encountered any heat issue.

It should be solved with the update, right?

Need Chrome to sync all my bookmarks.

May I know if owners of SP1/2/3 have any issues getting display output on consumer TV via Mini DP to HDMI adapters ? I can't get mine to detect any HDMI signal at all.

It works fine if I via Mini DP to HDMI + HDMI-DVI cable but I want the video+audio advantages by connecting via HDMI. It also works fine if I connect it wirelessly via Miracast. Currently using the latest Surface Pro drivers.

I have tested using graphic drivers directly from Intel. The wired connection doesn't work and Miracast also doesn't work too when using non Surface Pro certified drivers.
