just spoke to MS CSO. he confirmed that it's an existing problem for ALL sp3 are like this. Are not limited to different batches. All are like that. no solution for now.

my jagged lines only happen when:
(1) plugged in - charging (unplugged not so often)
(2) draw fast curves (e.g. drawing circle)
(3) palm on screen

:(:(

jagged lines is due to the curve is drawn very fast, it has no effect and independent of power plugging in, or palm on screen in any combination.

To get smooth curve, just draw slower, the magnetic stylus has a certain polling rate. By moving too fast, the polling rate is not fast enough to track a smooth curve.

Does anyone have a pdf annotator app to recommend?

I tried drawboard trial some time back and it kept crashing and all my notes have to be rewritten. The autosave feature had no point to it.
Has drawboard stabilized yet?

If no, any other similar apps available? I tried using bluebeam revu, but it doesn't recognise touch vs pen, which makes it pretty frustrating to write and scroll.

Cheers

ya, i used it for drawing. and need to draw fast to make a smooth curve that i want.

and somehow when charging, it got worse, with palm on screen. so actually with palm on screen and charging it does have effect on jagged lines. 3 hwz members told me they have the exact issue.

but having that said, jagged lines not an issue/problem personally for most users, just me.

Not sure if this is normal but my friend and I are both getting weird issues with the stylus when the power is plugged in.

It happens really randomly so we are unable to pinpoint what the exact cause is, or how we can reliably reproduce it.

There seems to be some side effects due to the grounding issues of the charger. Sometimes the pen would fail to register for long periods and sometimes the pen would go haywire (it would draw many small dots / scratches where I am writing, or it would simply become very very jagged).

I asked around and all my friends who own an SP3 is experiencing this issue, though another friend who has a SP2 has no problem with the stylus.

student discount puts the i3 at $997. the Free EC-300 II is not bad but it makes sense for those who can buy the edu version.

Those who cannot gets a slightly better deal at the IT fair compared to the MS webstore

then why the brochure says 8GB ram available for 256GB and above storage ?
Oh I thought you were asking if you can upgrade the RAM after you've purchased the system.

Every model has fixed RAM, and the models with 8GB are as mentioned by knightshaz.

Note that you cannot upgrade the RAM yourself unless you know how to do some crazy desoldering and you're able to find the correct RAM modules for the SP3.

Even upgrading the SSD requires you to know how to disassemble the SP3 (some guy actually drilled a hole through to replace the SSD lol...)

You can try Xodo Doc. It's free and not bad, except for the lack of undo and redo buttons.
