Challenger hardly offers the best deal for SP3 despite being the first store to display and sell it. You can try Harvey Norman instead but different branches has different offers.

Anyway if you can wait, SP4 is coming soon!

anyone knows if VM works well for the surface pro3? I am planning to use the surface pro3 as a backup for my work laptop. But the industrial programs i using are designed for win7 only...not too sure if VM runs all win7 programs and drivers

I don't see why not. Apart from it's physical appearance, it works just like any other laptop. The only slight problem would be to downgrade win 8 to 7. You might want to check with their technical support for confirmation if win 7 could support all the necessary drivers for SP3.

Anyone got the same problem as me? When my SP3 fan tends to kick in, it will gets hot behind. This is normal. However, the magnesium alloy behind will starts to discolour. Looks the build quality isnt that good. The edges surrounding my SP3 also begins to peel off.

You might want to call Microsoft customer service to hear what they say. If you're lucky, you can get a new one.
