yes somewhat agree :D

for me it is the sodimm ram, the laptop power adapter, the slim profile cpu cooler, etc :- the few things that i dislike about the mini-stx :D

You might want to remove the filter if it increased the Temp by 5c. Once in a while just air jet the internal. Since it not placed on the floor, dust intake might be a little lesser too.

Yeah. Using 150w adaptor. Then power supply is some China 12V power supply at 12.5A, not a very good quality. It whines under load.

Am surprise you’re getting 85deg at max loading with GPu overclocking. Quite resonable I feel. I kept everything stock as per bios. Only clocked my Ram to 3000mhz.

Are you using Ryzen 2400g ?

Thanks, but filters increase temps by around 5'C. All holes are filtered - even the serial port holes at the back.

Using the LR1108 150W plug in type DC-ATX unit? May I know what is the adapter you pair this with?

Also have you overclocked or undervolted the CPU/GPU?

My case: max temps around 85'C but with CPU underclocked to 3.4GHz and GPU overclocked to 1525MHz.

I am using 2200G, so less heat.

I keep a close eye on gaming temperatures and normally it does not exceed 75'C. At this temperature my exhaust fans are a bit noisy, but in a gaming environment (loud bangs/shooting sound) or wearing headphones, I hear nothing. If it shoots above 80'C (only under theoretical stress tests so far) then the exhaust fans will go to 100% which is a sign I need to clean. But so far I tolerate the dust filters because I feel they are more benefit.

Most of the time anyway I am using the PC for boring jobs - excel spreadsheets - and it is totally silent.

IIRC, the CPU 'boost' was what caused temps to climb. If you disable this then your temps will be manageable. Depends on your board, but for me setting any CPU setting other than stock (over or under clock, or voltage etc.) would disable 'boost'.

You can also control temps with LLC profiles. But need to be careful.

Dropping CPU core temps will give you the room you need to o/c the GPU.

U might wanna consider turning the fan other way round to exhaust fan out of the heatsink into the environment? Coz u are blowing hot air from cpu to other components.

Thanks Shadow84! Can consider that too. Not too sure if the 2 x exhaust fans on the right is enough to exhaust the hot air out.

Might wanna OC the gpu a bit to see if the temps are manageable.

Temp went 90deg w prime 95 max.

But normal gaming temps hovers below 65degs. E sports games like Dota 2 increase fps about 15-20%.

Haven try OC the cpu. Dunno if my power supply 150W will take it a not. Hah.

90'C is the throttle temperature. So your CPU may be lowering the clock speed to keep within safe temperatures.

So your o/c may not be effective when fully stressed. If you are not troubled by that then no worries! Great result actually!

If you want to test your o/c properly the CPU temperature needs to max out at less than 90'C (example 89'C), so that you know the o/c stays effective all the way.

Though Prime95 usually gave me stable results I usually got stuck playing a game like TF2. My advice is also play a game to confirm stable o/c.

Both CPU Vcore and SOC voltage make a huge difference to temperatures. IIRC 1.2V is a decent SOC voltage. You have not stated CPU Vcore. I think lowering CPU Vcore by tiny amounts is safer over SOC voltage.

150W power supply should be enough. I doubt your system at load will exceed 120W.

Powerful exhaust fans help a lot in cooling. I chanced upon some AVC 6010 fans that max out at 6000RPM each. At 6k RPM they are noisy, but it never touches that in regular use.

Edit: For games CPU clock may not need to be very high. A slightly lowering of CPU freq will reduce heat a lot, and give you a lot of playroom for your memory and GPU clock.

In my case I lowered CPU from 3.5 to 3.4 and that gave me a lot of headroom for o/cing the GPU and memory.
