They are useless. I wrote to IDA to inform them of the poor 3G network in areas like Suntec/Holland village. Esp in HV, loading google.com can take ages! IDA wrote to Singtel to respond to me and guess what? After 1 month Singtel could only says those areas has peak traffic. so after 6pm, do help to understand that due to peak load and bandwidth sharing, network may be slow. Thank you for understanding.

What type of answer is that? Why is Singtel introducing video streaming at $5 per month for BPL or Olympic video steaming when they are even get the basic 3G service right? Why did I not experience slow 3G service in San Franciso/LA right in the middle of town at peak periods under AT&T? Why did I experience much faster 3G service in HK in tsim sha tsui in their shopping center this year right in the middle of summer with queues everywhere the whole 4 days I was there from Thursday to Sunday?

And we are paying a premium for this lousy service compared to AT&T or even HK 3G.

I really feel like migrating to countries with better 3G speed :(

Totally agreed! Darn its so frustrating to be having this dirt speed and I actually paid for the highest plan!! now I am at Tanjong Pagar are and I am getting only 2mbps!!! (once again I am on the 21mbps plan!)

How is this acceptable!!?? Can I ask to terminate my plan!?? Ahhh!!

I called up technical department (1688) the technician told me do a few things which is darn bo liao! I told him no use still slow like hell.. He said if so I could go back and request a new SIM card!! I asked him what are the average speed I could achieve on speed net, his reply was that for my plan, I should be getting a DL speed of average abt 15mbps!! WTH??

Help... This is a pain!!

Visiting JB now, I just popped in a U Mobile prepaid 3G SIM into my Huawei Mifi router so I could use my iPad. This was the consistent result...

and again...

I even hit 19Mbps downstream on one reading.

SingTel should hang its head in shame...

Anyone staying around clementi using starhub? I used to stay at jurong area and have been ysing m1's sunsurf 7.2 mbps plan for more than a year there. Connection was very stable with above average speeds. However after moving to clementi, the speed was beyond horrible.. Static web pages took more than 5 mins to load even if i have 4 bars of reception. Called m1 and the only option they could give me is to terminate my contract without penalty so im looking at starhub's maxmobile plans.

Would be great if i can get some feedback from those using starhub aroud clementi area.

Is there nothing we can do to take Singnet to task? Offering 21mbps but only at such slow speed. Sometimes it's not even loading at all.

I have to tether to the 4G network to get better speed. The speed on 4G seems more suitable for 21mbps subscription :(

I personally have tried to use Umobile from Singapore second checkpoint all the way to Cameron Highlands. I would say they are stable and if there is not coverage in certain areas, it automatically switch to Celcom service and can continue to use.

if you switch to i2surf for starhub, do we need to pay the cover charge for multi sim feature?

Have just busted Singtel mobile broadband quota by 2GB, was just Youtube-ing non HD videos throughout the holiday period, couldnt have exceeded by that much. Could there be technical glitch on their meters?

No
Youtube videos are not that small, even if non-HD.

Paying the top-tied StarHub 3G mobile broadband plan (MaxMobile Elite of advertised speeds up to 21Mbps) and yet getting very dismal speeds.

It was a top-tier plan of that time when I signed up for a two year plan and I am still paying about $60 per month for it.

I had just done a speed test (Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test) and my download speed is 1.91Mbps and my upload speed is 0.05Mpbs.

Feedback to them only to say that it is normal, based on their document:

StarHub - Support - Mobile - Facts - Mobile Broadband Typical Speed Measurement

Consumers beware!

Starhub mobile broadband is bad. Slow and will dc often. Same thing, called them and they said it's normal. I'm cancelling this month.

Feel cheated on SH 21Mbps MBB

I signed up the SH Hubbing plan at COMEX yday and was given the 'FREE' 21Mbps MBB SIM card. When tested with my tablet download speed today on HPSA network, I was consistently getting speed < 3Mbps (range from 1.95 to 2.48Mbps). I was consistently getting > 10Mbps when I was on SingTel 3G network. The SH 21Mbps performance is appalling in comparison to the SingTel result.

When I called up the SH CSO to check on my speed plan, he asked me to check the speed with the starhub site which produced the consistent result of < 3.5Mbps. He then said that I was on the 7.2Mbps plan but upon checking my contract that I am on 21Mbps plan, he checked with the sales consultant and claimed that my SIM card is indeed on the 21Mbps and that my results of < 3.5Mbps is within the published actual results of 1.9 - 7.8Mbps. I told him that this is not quite right as the result is no different with the 7.2Mbps plan whose published actual result is from 1.6 - 5.2Mbps. The CSO said that there is nothing wrong with my card as it is within the published speed and since it is given 'FREE', I should not complain about this.

I am certainly not too happy with his point about me 'COMPLAINING' on this issue as it is a matter about honoring the deal. Could i have been given the 7.2Mbps card instead of 21Mbps ? For those who have signed up and given the 'FREE' SIM card, i would like to know if you are facing the same issue. Please share.

Not M1 meh? Thought Singtel's coverage on indoors CMI? As far as a non smartphone user experienced, a crowded book fair in Suntec this June = no reception at all. No voice call / SMS either and hence the best coverage should be M1 instead.
