Lucky not gpu. Skally ts went all out to open up the gpu and void the warranty.

Gpu over few months already got so many changes.

One good example was my msi r9 290 gaming. From ref board with different components to gold chokes, more vrms, lesser caps. More power delivery.

Built more than 100s of PCs, based solely on Gigabyte boards from CDL (unless client specified Asus or MSI).

From my experience with Gigabyte, it is unfair to them to say the revised board is "cut-cost". Gigabyte is one company, rather price their products higher than to cut cost only to sell at a competitive price.

Their revised board usually is "better", eg. improved. Secondly this is a B85 chipset, target towards business users, even more emphasis is placed on quality.

Not much experience with CDL.... oh yea, reason because Gigabyte is solid.

But from the looks of it. The newer revision is definitely "lower end" than rev 1. But then, B85 is just a budget board with no OC features at all. Hence, I think the mosfets will still be more than adequate to handle. Esp. since Haswell don't consume much power.

For me, I like their G1 Gaming WIFI BK, its really solid board. The Creative Audio is awesome as well. Not too expensive too.

I can feel sorry for TS. It IS a downgrade and cost cutting by Giga for this Rev2 model. While one say TS need do more research, but this kind of thing can easily be missed out. And unless TS is really free to search and search, Giga should have taken down the old Rev1 model from their website.

Tiagong Giga has been going downhill with their quality. Their X79 boards on paper look satki but actually is full of bugs. Their Z77 boards also cut down on the number of stability capacitors on the socket. Now their X99 boards again on paper looks satki, but their bios totally cmi.

TS the motherboard works does it not?
There is NO obligation for the distro/ manufacturer to tell you which revision their motherboard stock is. The manufacturer's obligation to you is that the product works (in normal conditions) for the duration of the warranty.
U need to do your homework and don't be a self-entitled *****.

it is obligation in my opinion. mayb u r rich or u do nt giv a S*** abt it, this kind of ting 4 me is impt.

it is gd as the recent TW oil problem. You eat for 50 yrs the poison oil, the oil manufacturer no tell u tat wat kind of oil, whr they gt the oil, they use as long it is oil, color the same, u eat taste ok, then no prob then it is OK?

i feel it is giga obligation to highlight/ inform. nt just paste 1 tiny sticker with small word rev.. i noe tat there is a sticker, but u look at it everytime u buy? pls do nt push 100% blame to me as consumer..

i am nt in IT line and does not noe in depth wat the pdt info, and the details of it. wat i c is tat e pdt doesn't match the pic..

i m here to highlight/feedback/pt out for all it can be done better...

Btw, for transparency, did TS even bother to check manufacturer website? The information is there. I went there to check and it lists rev 2.0 and display the correct board (with zoom in capability to see component layout).

The board TS bought clearly labels its Rev 2.0, the board label rev 2.0 as well. It coincides with what is listed on the website.

IF TS don't even know how to check or don't bother to check for the rev he wants, then he should not complain or should not DIY at all.

FYI, even branded PCs use different components all the time and it is not stated. They only list down 500GB HDD but never say who manufacturers the HDD. They can change it as and when they like as long as its 500GB.

Do you see Newegg or Amazon listing down revision numbers?

Btw, board rev is nothing compared to graphics card and CPU. Back then, different revision of CPU can indicate different process and this affects power consumption and overclockability. It affects voltage used for the CPU as well. Its up to overclockers to read up and find out what CPU they need to buy.

For graphics card, revision cause component layout to change and this makes some waterblocks unable to fit. I even have to mod the waterblock myself to make it fit.

yes, i no check website properly, i wnt bizgram site, the pic is there.. then i buy.. so i wnt noe tat there is rev 2 until i check..

hw wuld i noe gt hw many ver or wat... u all expert then noe... so consumer like me nt sure abt this, so can say me taichi 4 such thing tat happen 2 me?
