Bro.. the Starhub box outside your hdb, try see if you can simply lift the cover where the hinge is. I did that and the whole cover came out. Didn't need to force open anything.
Splitter will be there at your Starhub Box outside your house going to each point in your house. I had 3 splits going to hall and 2 rooms. Hall MoCA connected to fiber router and my master bedroom connected to another MoCA device which is connected to my PC.

Or I can just use a big screwdriver to force open the box myself? from what I see that Starhub cable outside is my property as it's paid with the HDB I bought.

So from living Room

I see many tech savvy guys here so maybe someone can help me.

Can fibre broadband and fibre tv signals run on the same coaxial cable via EOC ?

I am one of those affected by switch from cable tv to fibre tv in June. Starhub came to install EOCs last week.

My wireless router is directly connected to ONT both on ground floor. One EOC was connected to ONT and another EOC is upstairs and connected to digital setup box for fibre tv.

I want to move my wireless router upstairs but coaxial terminal downstairs is already used for EOC with fibre tv signals.

Any suggestions what I can do ?

is EOC adapter free from starhub ?

Sorry, just to check, for landed properties, there is no need to put the Poe filter right? Since the coaxial is not shared. If need to put means I have to go outside my house and ask starhub to open the coaxial hub under a drain located 200m away, doesn't make sense right?

There should be a SCV cable box within your property, or at the gate pillar, if you have done renovation.

You can disconnection from there and isolate from SCV cable network. No need to involve Starhub.

If disconnect already, means no tv signal? Even the fta one is gone? Sorry just want to double-check.

Already since beginning 2019 we are on digital which need antenna; & set-top box (to convert signal) for TV without DB-TV2.

All cable points no longer able to provide FTA already.

Yes. For good measure, the incoming SCV cable should be terminated with a Terminating Resistor as shown:

You need another F female to female adaptor to complete the job.

In other words the Poe filter as mentioned by the others? I cannot seem to find the grey box you show earlier. The only one I can find is about 100m away or 5-6 houses away and is locked. Is it the correct one?

I will have to call starhub to open it I think.

once cable services cease on 30 Jun, there is no need to use a PoE filter, just disconnect the incoming coaxial cable will do.

They are different.

POE filter - point-of-entry filter. Meant to to prevent MoCA signals from leaking to other cable subscribers nearby.

Terminating Resistor - a 75 ohm resistor to terminate an otherwise open cable circuit to absorb the signal energy.

The box you saw outside is one that SCV use to distribute cable signals to individual houses in the vicinity. One cable for one house. If there are more points needed in a house, SCV would install a splitter (typical) as illustrated below:

It would be unusual for SCV to run more than one cable to each house.

If you really cannot find the splitter in your gate pillar or within the house contained in a splitter box, then proceed to contact Starhub.

Read post #3 to understand the wiring better.

Whether POE filter is still needed? Unless your internal cable network is isolated from SCV network, without the filter your signal may interfere with your neighbour's if it happens that they are also using MoCA but not disconnected from SCV cable.

Btw, a pic of the F female to female adaptor is shown in post #215.

And yes, all these accessories are available at UF.

Yes, as you said, you need 4x Actiontec MoCA adapters. Technically, using the terminator cap is correct. But as you saw, there is a lock there to prevent unauthorised people from opening (tempering) with the connection. IF, a big if, SCV can accuse you of tempering with their property. You own the outgoing cables from the splitter. The input cable to the splitter belongs to SCV. I have no answer who owns the splitter.

In any case, the splitter need not be changed, so no issue here. The splitter works for frequencies from about 5 MHz to 1000 MHz used by cable tv. Those rated for higher frequency, eg 2300MHz are meant for satellite signals pump through cables. It supplies the same signal (at a lower leve) to each out going cable. The cable connected speed, as claimed by Actiontec, remains at 1G. But actual surfing speed will depend on the total number of devices currently connected.

if you are using MoCA with a splitter, the splitter needs to cover the frequency range of MoCA, which for MoCA 2.0 is up to 1675MHz. do check your splitter.

Yes, the MoCA 2.0 Specs cover frequencies up to 1675. It is split to three bands, D, E, and F. These are called frequency plans. For D, 1125 - 1625. For E, 400 - 700. For F, 650 - 875.

So you need to know the actual frequency plan implementatation of your adaptors and whether they are "bonded" or not.

In any case the argument is moot because the internal cable wiring supports frequencies in the broadcast band only , which is up to about 800 MHz.

Even if the actual adaptor make use of the D plan and you change the splitter to one that is up to 2300MHz, the unsupported cable may not let you enjoy the full performance you are led to believe.

I'm sure there are plenty of Actiontec MoCA 2.0 users who have no issues with existing internal cable wiring and getting full 1Gbps. And this MoCA uses D band. I am one of them.

Thanks, still not very clear. There is a thick black coaxial which runs into the splitter box in the storeroom but that's it. I cannot find the source of the cable since it runs underground. Is the poe filter meant to go into the silver box outside my house or elsewhere? I have contacted starhub and they're sending a technician down, hopefully he will be able to tell me where to put the filter.

And as others have mentioned, if I disconnect the incoming coaxial in storeroom, it means that the TV's in my house can no longer watch fta channels? Since the fta signal is still running through coaxial right?

Also, another question, I need to ensure the splitters in my house all can run the 1625 mhz frequency for it to work? Cos it seems mine all using the stock starhub one which only supports up to 1000 mhz I think.

Glad to hear your personal experience. Thanks! So this is another example of digital evolution overcoming the limitations of existing analogue infrastructure. The "repurposing" of the internal coaxial cable will also help to recycle materials otherwise go to waste. Cheers.

did you read post #230? once you switch out of cable tv/broadband, there is no need to connect the incoming coaxial cable to your first splitter, which sounds like it's the one in your storeroom. the incoming cable will become completely useless come 1 July 2019, FTA TV already ceased to be on the coaxial points from 1 Jan 2019.

it is an example of "there is no such thing as a coaxial cable with a hard limitation of 800Mhz transmission".

Oh ok. It seems I was mistaken. Was under the impression that the digital TV for fta channels just means no more analog and all convert to coaxial. Did some reading and realized that it's actually conversion to uhf signals. My bad.

Ok in this case there is no need for a filter, just disconnect the incoming cable and change the splitters will do. Thanks for the help!
