I have a pair of goCoax MoCA 2.5 adaptors. How do I access the adaptor's setup/config web pages? I read that the address is 192.168.254.254 but I can't access that page.

Have anyone mix ActionTec ECB6000 (not the latest model) with the goCoax adaptors?

Thanks.

Have you configure your laptop/desktop NIC to 192.168.256.x ip range? You network IP must be in the same range of 192.168.256.x before you can access 192.168.254.254

- Configure your PC's IP address to 192.168.254.x, for
example, 192.168.254.10. Connect the device to the PC via ethernet
cable.

- Step3: Log into the device's web by http://192.168.254.254,
username: admin, password: gocoax

getting roughly same test speed as yours with Aztech home plugs and M1 500Mbps plan. ;)
It make me wonder how much "more" speed can I gain (if any) if I were to upgrade to Tplink AV2000 which is much more cheaper ($109 per pair with AC passthrough) and neater than MoCA.

MoCA doesn't seems to be well received in Singapore eventhough most household have such infrastructure. I guess it's due to the complexity, little or no availability from brick & mortar shop and probably higher price associated with it.

Oh another point I noticed. I find it's quite difficult to find short RG6 coaxial cable with both Male F-type connector. Endup, I placed my order with Amazon SG for 1.5ft (45cm) and 3ft (90cm).

goCoax package doesn't include coaxial cable. And also prepare 2x traveller socket plug as the power adapter will come with US prong.

Pls update if the whole network will be running at Moca 2.0 standard if you add Moca 2.0 adapters.

Anybody managed to access the Admin page? Pls share how to do it. Thanks.

The youtube link is a review of goCoax 2.5. The reviewer did try out pairing a MoCA 2.0 in a 2.5 setup.

Assuming your main node connecting to the router is on 2.5 and 2 clients running on 2.5 and 2.0, only the 1 of the client on 2.0 will be connected to the main node at 2.0 standard while the other client will still be on 2.5.

Thanks for the update/info. Do post update when you have set up your adapter. Cheers.

As a user of both Homeplugs and Moca 2.0, I will say the difference will be a lot.

After 8 years with homeplug, that's why try something new with MoCA and hopefully much higher speed than what I'm getting.

I just realised that you could just disconnect the cable at your coaxial point and connect the Moca adapter directly. No need to buy the short RG6 cable.

Unfortunately I do not have any existing coaxial cable at all.

What I'm trying to say is, open up your Coaxial point box and you will find the cable connected to the coaxial splitter/end point.

Few days ago, I opened up my electrical riser box (HDB) and i realized all boxes locked up with the exception of telephone wiring box :(

I wonder whom shall i call to open it up as i want to disconnect the incoming coaxial signal and ensure the splitter is MoCA friendly not to affect the speed.

Town council, starhub or locksmith ?

With some courage after earlier message, I pryed open the box and finally see the splitter.

I realized that the existing splitter not MoCA friendly. Based on what I read so far, the splitter need to be 5-2300mhz range for MoCA to work properly. Looks like I need to hunt for some MoCA friendly splitter.

5-1000mhz means that only frequency between this range can pass through the splitter (Between In and Out). MoCA D band operates at 1125Mhz to 1675Mhz. 2 things to note:

1) Moca Signal can still be transmitted between OUT and OUT as the 5-1000mhz applies only between IN and OUT

2) even you don’t use filter, your neighbour will not receive your MoCA signal. Pls do not change that splitter to 5-2300mhz or else your neighbour can start to receive your MoCA signal.

3) 110 db is very strong isolation. A typical filter is 40db and the best i have seen is 80db. this splitter is a very good quality splitter.

Need some advice on my next steps.

Do I need to unplug the white incoming cable ?

I am wondering if the "110dB EMI Isolation" means output to output isolation or not. I tend to think this is for RF immunity and not output to output isolation.

Another thing, what is the typicwl signal attenuation charterstics of the spliter outside the passband?1125MHz is actually pretty close to 1000MHz. So I am not so sure if the attenuation is good enough or not.

EMI isolation means electromagnetic interference from atmosphere. same concept of cables with shielding to prevent stray signals to interfere.

not close actually. if you refer to moca specs on moca website, the first D band ext. channel (channel 1) starts from 1125mz and ends at 1225mhz . and before 1125mhz, there is a 123mhz width that is not used before it touches CATV/DOCIS. if DOCIS3.1 exist, then channel 1 will start from 1275mhz (81mhz not used between them)
