pls wait till Cat 1 is over haha...

In your indoor splitter, connect the bottom 2 coaxial together with this adaptor.

Should be able to work.

My indoor SCV points are in the hall and the master room. How to connect them together?

You don't know how to read this?

'The attached top photo'
then ya la, your connection is wrong la. the 2 bottom coax cable is the 1 that go to your 2 coax location in your house that you mentioned(master room and hall). so the top part where you disconnected, you are supposed to put the coax from your moca adapter(the 1 connected to your router).

if still cannot, remove the spliiter. maybe your splitter frequency is wrong.
find out which of the bottom 2 is the 1 that you want to use. then direct connect it through a coupling to the coax from your moca adapter(the 1 connected to router). this way, you will have a direct moca connection like mine.

if you still dont understand, let me know. i will draw out a infographics for you.

Ok done the last test. Still no MoCA signal. I believe some issues with the coax cables.

Changed my ASUS router's IP address to be different from the ASUS MoCA adapter

The outdoor splitter removed and connected the 2 coax cables into my house using the double female coupler. So now it's just one single coax cable with no splitters

Indoor splitter at both SCV points removed and connected the MoCA adapter directly to the coax cable

P-20231219-161230.jpg

One final option is to use a non-ASUS MoCA adapter for testing, hopefully it can work

I tested with the TV antenna points instead of the SCV points and it works

And the speed test result for now is

FI, the TV cable also use coax cable. Went to SL Tower early today and custom made 2x cables with both male ends - TV antenna to coax

Ha ha very happy now for the MoCA adapters can work with TV antenna

Hi guys, would like some advice. my current MOCA 2.5 setup is as such:

router -> moca -> living room: 2 moca units
router -> moca -> pc room: 2 moca units

If I reduce the 2 moca units at the router & use a splitter (3 moca units in total), will it affect the internet speed to the living room & pc room? Is the 2.5Gbps shared across both coaxial cables?

I'm asking cos then if I use the splitter, I can reduce power usage of 1 moca unit, plug the ethernet cable directly to the XT12 router 2.5Gbps & reduce a need for a current switch to output to the 2 moca direct lines attached.

Your advice will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Why is the living room and PC Room each having 2 MoCA units?

One unit can be connected to the router in the living room and the other unit to the PC room if there's a SCV/TV point. Extra LAN lines needed just use a switch

Is there a 2.5Gbps splitter? I have checked and it seems 2/3/4 splitters are just 1Gbps whereas there's 2.5Gbps 5-port switch

My MoCA setup

My master room has 1 TV point so I connected a MoCA 2.5 unit. The other unit is connected to the router in the living room. From the master room I use a 2.5Gbps switch and extend a LAN line to my back room. So only use 2 MoCA units

Sorry for the confusion. the router is near the fibre point in a stairwell. so I have 2 moca units in the stairwell have direct connections to the living room and the PC room. so I should have written it as below:

Stairwell router -> switch -> moca -> coaxial -> moca -> living room aimesh node
Stairwell router -> switch -> moca -> coaxial -> moca -> pc room aimesh node

If I use the splitter:
Stairwell router -> moca -> splitter -> coaxial -> moca -> living room aimesh node
-> coaxial -> moca -> pc room aimesh node

so just wondering if the speed will be split compared to the current "dedicated" coaxial line setup. maybe I just leave it as it is to get the full 2.5gbps in between each moca unit.

Thanks.

Like I said there's no 2.5Gbps splitter if I'm not wrong. So if you want better speed use a 2.5Gbps switch with 5-ports. Don't use a splitter in your case.

The below is NOT required

"Stairwell router -> switch -> moca -> coaxial -> moca -> pc room aimesh node"

Let's see. 1 MoCA unit is connected to the SCV/TV point in the router=>switch. There's also a SCV/TV point in the PC room. And you just need to connect the 2nd MoCA unit to this point will do.

PC Room : SCV/TV point => MoCA => aimesh node

One more thing

Stairwell router -> switch -> moca -> coaxial -> moca -> living room aimesh node. Don't understand this?

Rather

Stairwell router -> switch -> Moca unit. To work in pairs this MoCA unit will connect to the other MoCA unit in the PC Room. Just connect another LAN cable from switch directly to living room aimesh node. So save 1 MoCA unit

Overall you just need 2 MoCA units

Can say what MoCA brand you are using and what best speed you are getting? Thanks

So far my best speed from a 1Gbps line using ASUS MA-25 (MoCA 2.5) is below

Cannot remember shop name and price liao.

Just go SL Tower. Take the escalator up and the shop on the right. There's a man and a lady manning the shop

I have just signed up for SH 10Gbps broadband (installation on this Thursday) and just found out that Moca 3.0 equipment/adapters are not available yet. Any alternatives that I can look into other than wait for Moca 3.0 or g.hn2 please?
