I recommend everyone to understand our body need. For myself I used to think breakfast is very important. Now I also start practicing intermittent fasting which has been working very well for my body and energy need during the past few months and I will continue it.

I don't eat anything for breakfast and may drink black coffee. I only eat from 12pm to 8pm too. I only eat oatmeal for lunch and will eat better for my dinner. It satisfied my daily basic need for energy and at the same time help me save money.

Well, I don't really recommend people to skip breakfast to save money as it is the most important meal to kick start your day. The Oatmeal porridge with an egg in the picture above is good enough and does not cost much.

No matter how rich you are or how much money you have, you can not buy a good health later in your life.

I do not condone compulsory fasting at certain rigid timings. This is because we expend different amounts of energy depending on the physical activity being performed.

I only eat when I feel hungry and eat more if I participate in more strenuous activities. I do not suffer any gastric problems because of my irregular eating habit.

Eat only because you are hungry and not because it is time to. This is very good at maintaining your weight. Excess calories if any in your diet will be stored as fats resulting in weight gain.

This has nothing to do with saving money. Health is priceless. Eat what is good for your body. Less to no meat, more vegetables plus exercise. Most importantly I find is mental health. Once you are stress and pressure free. You naturally eat and sleep better. You don't get into quarrels with people because your spirits/mood is very positive or at least neutral. This is why I chose not to work so hard any more and just enjoy the limited life span on this earth.

Hope my experience sharing can benefit readers out there. It helped me for sure. :D

agree with you that we should eat when we are hungry instead of sticking to the dinner time or lunch time unless it's for social purpose perhaps. Thanks to the food technological advancement and improvement in supply chain, now we in the 1st world country face more problem in controlling ourselves from consuming excess amount of food than food storage as lots of food be it natural or process are easily available at affordable price compared with centuries ago.

Saving money is only additional benefit of proper fasting. Once in a while I also indulge myself with food that I love without thinking too much about the nutrition or weight gain to ensure that I enjoy myself in the limited life span on the earth.

Extremeways aka Daimon is a pioneer of thought-provoking threads?

(A) If true, then I am the person.

(B) If false, then I am not the person.

If I am banned, it means (A) is true....

i know some even have cup noodles so you can save 1 meal per week (eat 1 cup noodle meal per week, dont eat too much bad for health)

drink plain water! not only save money, it helps you in healthily living too!

and please don't eat cup noodles unless for convenience or hungry at night ba. its very unhealthy.

I eat from 9am - 4pm.
May I ask how many kg did you lose?

Hi my aim is not to lose weight but to maintain and improve my muscle mass while losing body fat. Currently about 12-13% body fat at 85-86kg. It's an easy diet to follow as it's not really a diet but a eating schedule. Breakfast is not really the most important meal (it's basically what the big companies want you to think). Quite debatable really. I find without breakfast I feel more energetic as I'm not digesting food first thing in the morning.

IMO:
I find cooking at home not worth the savings and waste of time versus $3 buy outside chap cai peng etc.
Electronics like phones generally dont need buy expensive, very steep diminishing returns and depreciating assets.
Many things like clothes can just buy cheaply used on Carousell etc, nobody besides weirdos will care about whether your clothes are new or not.
Always use CC whenever possible for rebates and to earn interest bank credit for like OCBC 360 and pay full amount every month.
I rather have real money in bank earning big big interest than to impress materialistic people.

why cannot eat cai png 24/7? cai png is the only one able to eat 24/7, because got more variety to choose from. compared to eating chicken rice everyday.

How to save on mobile phone bills?

Switch from Post-Paid to Prepaid. Nowadays so much free WIFI around, plus free/cheap data (eg, Circles.Life), I spend less than $10 a month on voice and data. Most phone calls and messages already go through Whatsapp or Wechat anyway. Just need to take the plunge with a new phone number since cannot port from postpaid to prepaid. I did it more than 5 years ago and never looked back.

Don't need any phone subsidy either. Recently bought brand new Mi Max 2, huge 6.44" screen for my aging eyes, and huge battery. Cost me less than $200 all in (including case and tempered glass), because Mi Max 2 price slashed after Mi Max 3 launched last year.
