im still working towards my 50K savings b4 i get marry. Est i can save abt at least 8-10K per year after minusing cost.. i did by die also 500 goes in to my bank 1st. Bonus/AWS all in. Then Watever excess i have for my salary also goes in. Im a big spender but i guess i can save too. My Salary is just enough to apply Credit Card. I indulge in nitty gritty waste money stuff sometimes, im 30% a saver and 70% Spender.

Heres my tips:

Get 2nd hand stuff if possible
join mass order
buy vouchers (can get 15-50% off face value)
Buy clothes during sale
Surf net for more lobangs
Get CC to save u on some meals
Buy a car? Co share with family
Know more ppl n get staff price from them.

if you get married at the wrong timing, your 50k goes to the cov of a resale flat only.

for my 7 mth old baby to watch DVD. One at nanny house, one at home.

oh btw, dont let your baby watch too much tv/dvd at such a young age as their eyes are not fully developed yet. to stimulate him/her visually, u can try flash cards

... cheers :s8:
Australia is going to ban baby or kids of certain age from watching such program.

Well, he watch about 30min a day on LCD only, so it is okay. Max is 1hr weekends. Moreover, it is different program everything. He started since 3 months old.

Portable DVD player is 100+ for a 7" and a shinco. Notebook is 15".

No need to rip, just copy the .dat file from vcd and .vob file from DVD.

What do u have for emergency lighting? in case of power failure, or, touch wood, real emergencies.
My first line of defence is LED lamp. ABC shop sell at $1 while ikea sell for $2. Powered by Lithium Ion battery (samples for my product development).

Second line of defence is candles.

Third line of defence is batteries (GP recyko, uniross hybrio) for batter powered hand-held fan.

Fourth line is hand-powered touch. Which I have 2. I also have hand-powered radio and button cell radio, in case of broadcast during war.

I do hv a UPS but never use or connected yet.

well i guess this will wipe everything out but at least theres something to wipe out. Anyway I plan to take over my Parents Masionette. So I guess at the most they stay near the estate, i get some grants and perhaps they help me out with it and i think it will be in move in condition. 50K is just my base. Of coz ideally more. :)

Staff price is not always the best and lowest price, especially for IT product.

Rainwater Harvesting

Rainwater Harvesting is one of the many benefits of rainwater harvesting - not only it is salt-free, chlorine-free, lower pH, and infused with nitrogen; but it also comes from a free source - with no sewer bill attached! Just 1/2 inch of rain on a 2,000 sf roof can collect up to 600 gallons of rainwater! Also, up to 60% of our water use here is for outdoor use - so not only does it never reach a sewer, but it is a great waste of a scarce and precious resource. I had been wondering about this since I was considering plumbing my shower, sinks & wash machine outside rather than into the sewer, but didn't think the city would actually consider "lowering my bill." YEAH...another way to save the planet & save money.

Agree with some of your points:

HWZ and VRZ have helped me save quite a tidy sum in my purchases.. whter buying air tix, buying hp, laptops @ discount, vouchers @ discount, joining MO.

HWZ and VRZ are amazing places to source for and sell 2nd hand stuff..

Buy a car (???? Really didn't get how this will save money)

Forgive me if I cannot find the thread or post...

Any kind soul willing to share his expenses/savings spreadsheet template with me? In excel sheet format.

I have visited websites which helped but they are a bit complicated for me. Prefer excel format.

I believe its best that u design and customize your own excel worksheet as different people have different needs. U can start by looking @ those freely available and adjust to your liking.

U can go to microsft office download homepage to download the free financial templates.

good luck :)
