Bought a Catleap Q271 LED with the multi-scalar with HDMI and DVI inputs.

Used a mini display port to DVI adaptor that I bought from Sim Lim Square to connect it to the monitor. Unfortunately, I can only get it to 1920x1080 on my 2010 15" MBP.

Any one knows if it's my MBP or the adaptor? Using the original cable from Catleap to connect up the adaptor to the monitor.

For displayport to other connections, you need an active adaptor, irrc.. Something similar to powering it on...and quite ex...

Hi, I think now you will need to use dual dvi for True 1440p display. HDMI and minidisplay cannot output 1440p

i'm currently torn between Achieva Shimian QH2700-IPSMS Edge and Crossover Black Tune 2755 AMG. Which one is the better monitor (for gaming and watching HD videos)? Which has a better build quality?

Read that the crossover black tune has a buzzing sound coming from it when it is turned on. How bad and noticeable is it?

Super small? How far are you sitting away from your monitor? The main point of having such high resolution is to basically have more screen estate.

I only know that the text etc can be zoomed in and enlarge. As for the browser itself, maybe you can take a look at the os options. Might have some magnification options under ease of access or something.

kinda regretted my purchase. paid $409.. within 4 months broke down. troubleshoot with accessorieswhole
1. send me replacement power brick - doesn't work.
2. asked me to send back the pcb - must wait until they receive then can get a 1:1 replacement
almost a month now, my issue still not resolved as still waiting for the pcb which will not guarantee to solve the problem. all the email correspondence not very helpful. yes it's a cheaper option, but if you can afford it go for monitors with local warranty.

Unlucky. There are worse cases out there. For example for those that arrive dead on arrival, in order to get a full replacement / refund they will have to pay shipping back to the seller and then the process will take place.

My monitor has been going strong for more than 1.5 years with no problems at all. I still consider this the most value purchase I've ever made in terms of my computer and tech stuff.

As swiftbladez stated, there is a risk to take. Feel bad for your luck.. Mine still going strong although haven't 1 year yet. As long as can tank 1.5-2y, I feel it justifies the cost already (I got my set at $360).

Price for the Crossovers keeps going up, some people may opt for Dell or QNIX.

If given the choice, I would still go for a Crossover 27Q if the price was what I bought previously. Aesthetics wise, study built, and especially the pristine clear panel(that isn't a fingerprint magnet or mirror) compared to dell's dull and ugly matte.

But from what I've read, Dell's ultrasharp series has a ton of problems on its own too, but if you feel safe with the 5y solid warranty, then by all means go ahead.

For a lot of us though, we'd rather not drop $800 at once on a monitor, and lucky gamblers may get years of usage with the much cheaper korean 1440p alternatives.

Congrats for you hoot. I gotten 2 x CrossOver 27Q pivot version also. Yes, the pivot is nothing like the one that Dell uses.

Yes, the wordings may appear small in the beginning but after awhile, you should get used to it.

PS : If you want bigger font size on your browsers, just use "Ctrl +" to make them bigger and "Ctrl -" to reduce their size.

Somebody here posted before that :

1. If PC is on
2. The "ON" light on the monitor is ON
3. No picture displayed on the screen

Take a torchlight, place it against the screen, turn it on and try to see whether you can see "content" of your Windows desktop.

If can see, means the blacklight PCB spoilt liao. Ask them to send a PCB over but you must know abit of DIY to replace it. If really don't know, can go ask those shop that do monitor repairs to do for you.

I am using 2 CrossOver 27Q Pivot now, love the twins. *grin*

Once any of them spoilt, will try to repair ... if really cannot repair, then will probably change to 3 x 24" instead liao.

Is the 30 inch a good buy or 27 inch OK liao?

Personally I think 27" 1440p is a great leap from 1080p 23".
If you want bigger then by all means go for the 30", but personally I feel totally not worth it. Lazy to check but I'm pretty sure it's 1.3k+

At that price can almost get Dell 1600p 30" with local 5y(?) warranty. That time someone giving out coupons pretty sure discount quite big like $300 ish. Maybe mail in to negotiate?

As you can see, 1080p vs 1440p is alot(80% more) difference, but 1440p vs 1600p different story.

Whether paying the extra 1k is justifiable for that much extra is up to you.
