I stand corrected. It can indeed scale down, but what I do notice is that even though down-scaling is possible, I cannot activate the monitor using a single-link connection. It will only accept a dual-link DVI signal.

Scaling seems to work well for any 16:9 resolution, which includes 1920 x 1080, 1600 x 900 and 1280 x 720.

That's the graphics card doing the scaling. The monitor itself does not have built-in scaling, hence the need for expensive 'active' adapters for laptop/ps3/xbox users.

There are models with scaling and multi inputs, but the prices are also alot closer to the popular monitor brands.

wow. 2560x1440, can game? i run things at full details de..

then again..if i buy this is purely for work and photography..not so much teh game. haha.

If you play the games at say 1920x1080 .... should be ok. But if you want to play at 2560x1440 ... then I suggest you get GTX670.

Yah ... even in the website on eBay .... IIRC they specifically indicate that only Dual Link DVI can drive this monitor.

Sorry for noob question. If my laptop only has a HDMI port, am I able to project the graphics over to this monitor at the max resolution of 2560×1440?

it is general opinion that crossover has better build quality over shimian. Shimian however is the cheaper option.

It is up to you. I ordered CrossOver because I want a Pivot version. Gmarket Shimian is cheapest I think about SGD$380 only.

You may refer to the website and ask the seller about the warranty. But whatever warranty, usually buyer have to bear the shipping charges to send the item back.

Also, I would advise that you order on Sunday or Monday. Today is Friday liao, if you order ... you'll waste 2 days. But this is what I suggest lah ... end of the day ... it is up to you.

So far so good?

Pivot means can turn here and there right? (w and w/o can use vesa mount? - no need but in the future maybe)

Thought of getting two pivots..cus getting one and using it next to a 25.5" TN panel matte screen..would be weird...right?

ya i did try to play skyrim both in 2550x1440 and 1920x1080. both is good although i prefer 2550x1440 cause it shows more.
but I couldn't use highest setting if play with that resolution. that's why i played with 1920x1080.

Thanks for the reply.. I found crossover 27q for 399 over at Gmarket, seems like its cheaper than Ebay. Btw as long as the graphic card have dual link dvi port it will work right.. Might get sapphire hd7850

Just get 2 lah ... Pivot means it come with the stand that can slide the monitor up and down, turn left and right, tilt forward and backward. If you get the normal one from CrossOver ... it will be Vesa mount-able also.

Just hoot 2 lah ... I am using 2 now ... very shiok.

Yes ... you need to have a powerful graphic card to support 2560x1440 resolution with highest settings.
